This effect reduces physical weapon damage by a percentage from 1 to 100. Any magical weapon or effect bypasses this, as well as items checked off as Ignore Weapon Resistance, such as Daedric weapons.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • Negative values do work as expected for physical traps, such as dart throwers and hanging maces, amplifying the damage an actor receives from them. However they do not affect damage from weapons, unless you install the AV Uncapper plugin by JRoush.
    • If you do, note that the Ignore Weapon Resistance flag works both ways, so Silver, Daedric and magic weapons will not benefit from a ResistNormalWeapons value below 0 anyways.
  • Hand to Hand attacks (from NPCs and creatures) don't have their damage amplified by a negative actor value either. They will ignore any positive value if the actor's skill in Hand to Hand (or Combat Skill in the case of creatures) is equal to or above iSkillJourneymanMin (default 50). So the journeyman Hand to hand perk allows actors to successfully punch enemies like ghosts and wraiths, ignoring their normal weapons immunity.
