I've been trying to upload a mod of mine but it isn't appearing in my oblivion data folder. I don't know what's going on. It appears in the Data Files section of the Oblivion launcher, and in the construction set, but I can't find it in the Data section. Here's my path, if it helps: C:\program files\bethesda softworks\oblivion\data. Can someone tell me what I should do? Or at least what happened, so next time I can avoid spending three weeks on a mod that would just betray me. Thanks in advance.

:If you ''did'' mean on one of those sites, then you should probably ask ''there''. But they're going to want to know more details, like, "What operating system are you using?" Sounds like it might be one of those Vista 'features' I keep hearing about. Check out the [[Windows Vista]] article for more information if that's the case. If it's Windows 7, some of that but not all of it is still applicable (I wouldn't know, however; I'm still very happy on XP).

Your Question

I've been trying to upload a mod of mine but it isn't appearing in my oblivion data folder. I don't know what's going on. It appears in the Data Files section of the Oblivion launcher, and in the construction set, but I can't find it in the Data section. Here's my path, if it helps: C:\program files\bethesda softworks\oblivion\data. Can someone tell me what I should do? Or at least what happened, so next time I can avoid spending three weeks on a mod that would just betray me. Thanks in advance.

Where are you trying to upload it? Here? We don't accept mods here; the Wiki is a guide, not a mod host. See TES Nexus, Planet Elder Scrolls, TES Alliance, ElricM, GameMods.info, or any of several other similar host pages. The file upload utility on this site will not accept .esm or .esp files.
If you did mean on one of those sites, then you should probably ask there. But they're going to want to know more details, like, "What operating system are you using?" Sounds like it might be one of those Vista 'features' I keep hearing about. Check out the Windows Vista article for more information if that's the case. If it's Windows 7, some of that but not all of it is still applicable (I wouldn't know, however; I'm still very happy on XP).
Other than that, please do not create new pages for questions like this. Questions about specific articles go on that article's Talk page. Questions about the Wiki itself go on the Community Portal. Questions about how to do something, requests for help, trouble-shooting, etc, all go on the Forums. And it really sounds like this should have been asked on Nexus or PES or something.
Anyway, I do hope that the Wiki proves helpful in guiding you how to mod. It's just not a mod host. Sorry for the confusion.
