New World Space
Basic Worldspace TutorialEdit
- This is a basic Tutorial for Building a custom World Space and adding Landmass.

New WorldspaceEdit
- Select World Spaces in the World menu
- Rightclick in the World list and select New and give your World a Editor ID. ( 00MyWorldspace in tutorial )
- Now select your World from the list and edit the settings.
Name: Whatever you like. ( My Worldspace in tutorial ) Parent Worldspace: NONE Music: Again whatever you like. Climate: Select the weather climate for your worldspace. Water: Select the default water for your worldspace.
- Keep the remaining settings as listed in pic:
NOTE:Usable Dimensions should read 15 x 15, this is more than big enough for most mods. Thanks to bond for pointing out this error!
- Select OK and save. You now have an empty worldspace.
Adding a LandmassEdit
The following is a short tutorial on adding land to your worldspace based on a Island landmass.
- In the Cell view window, double click your worldspace in the list to display it in the Render window.
- Open the Landscape Editor and use these settings:
- Leftclick and drag the land up untill you have some above water level.
- Now change your Landscape settings to Flatten and from the land you have raised, drag the land out to the shape you require. Make the shape of the land larger than what you want.
- Now around your newly made landmass, halfway up the side under the water level, flatten out some land to border your island all the way around.
- Now change the landscape editor settings to soften and drag down the sides of your island to make a better shore line.
This is why you need to over do your landscape at first, as you soften your land you will lower the level, this is a good method with hills as well, over do the height and size then soften back down. Image
- After adding some land you can link your World to Tamriel the same way you would link an interior cell, just select the door/portal you want.

A custom in-game mapEdit
Silgrad Towers guide for an in-game map.
The usable dimensions and the cell coordinates can be changed (depending on the map you're using).
Step 1.
Place the map (GreenMap.dds) in the correct directory "\data\textures\menus\map\world\".
Step 2.
Load the Oblivion esm in the CS. Go to the World menu and select the submenu "Worldspaces..". Select Tamriel. In the map data section click on the button "menus..." etc. Select the map in the "\data\textures\menus\map\world\(GreenMap.dds)" directory. In this case the map has the same size as Tamriel so you don't have to change the usable dimensions and the cell coordinates.
Step 3.
Save the esp.
Step 4.
Open the esp with a hex editor (screenshot). Change the following code (find the following text: "menus\map\world\GreenMap.dds"). Change the "m" (6D in hex) from ["m"enus\map\world\GreenMap.dds] to an "M" (4D in hex).
Step 5.
Save the file in the hex editor.
Step 6.
Select the esp and check in-game. You'll see the map with the correct location of the PC. Resuming. I also used another map (bigger) and changed the usable dimensions and the cell coordinates, as per requirement. This worked fine. Don't merge it to an esm (leave the changing of the map in an esp). If you do, your esm alters the oblivion esm and you'll see weird things. I used a map made by Kosomot.
