General[edit source]

ShadowDancer 17:07, 15 July 2006 (EDT): I was wondering what others thought about having a page like this. Is it useful for those who have never modded before? Would it be useful for trying to get a generalized format for mods? I figure that this could either be put under Category:Getting Started, or maybe even on the main page where it might stand out more up by Getting Started. It seems to me like it would be useful to get some generalized good modding tips/rules of thumb in one place that is easily found by anyone coming to the Wiki. Any thoughts?

I think a general list of guidelines is a great thing. Hopefully it will be read by more than just the regular visitors to this site, who I assume already have a fairly good grasp of good practice. A more prominent link to it might encourage more people to take a look. Maybe link directly from the main page? Scruggs 22:46, 15 July 2006 (EDT)
I'd say "Getting started" fits well as I doubt you can convince the admins to put it on the Main Page. Maybe sort it in at "A" (either by adding "|A'" to the category entry or by renaming it to ABC of Modding or something similar so that it shows up right below or above A Beginner's Guide
Maybe this should be a Category instead, so we can link the mod-cleaning and Unclean Dialogue tutorials here?--JOG 04:10, 16 July 2006 (EDT)
ShadowDancer 09:45, 16 July 2006 (EDT): OK, I have now moved the article to its own category. I also left a note on Ashileedo's talk page about seeing if we could move it to the main page where it would be visible for anyone coming to the Construction Set Wiki. Also included the Mod Cleaning and Unclean Dialogue articles to About Modding Etiquette

Expansion/Move[edit source]

Expanded and moved to Modding Etiquette. Probably ought to be compared (merged with??) Common Mistakes but maybe not. Enough for now. --Wrye 20:55, 24 February 2009 (EST)
