New Utility Mod - Should I put the docs here?[edit | edit source]

I'm getting close to releasing a beta of my current WIP which is something of a general utility mod for both modders and players (but primarily for modders). It started out as a hotkey/menu system mod, but in the process of implementing that I've added in a large number of features to make modding in general easier and less tedious/time-consuming as well as add new capabilities that are somewhat complex. The amount of info is too much to put into a readme file, so I'm looking to put the 'docs' on a wiki -- I was thinking UESP originally, since that's where COBL is and my project is similar to COBL, but I saw discussion here about whether COBL info belongs here or not, and in a lot of ways my project is more similar to OBSE. It also relies heavily on pluggy. I've put an overview of the features included/planned on my user page (click my signature) so please go check that out and let me know what you think.

The UESP may be more reliable than the CS Wiki, that's the only reason I can think of why you should not put your documentation here. The Wiki has been offline a few times, sometimes longer than others, and its future is uncertain. I think the CS Wiki is the most appropriate place to put it, but not the most reliable one.
I'm still waiting on parts for my new rig and I can't mod atm, but I'm eager to see what new tool you've got for us.

Hmm, that's good insight -- I think I will go with UESP, and maybe figure out somewhere on here to put a link to there. I'm *this close* to a first beta version... basically just have to add yet-another-preprogrammed menu option so that I can incorporate inventory/spellbok renaming and deletion into the core mod. I swear I've rewritten the Key Poller at least 10 times now, and changed the keymap.ini format at least 5 times.

UESP more reliable than CS Wiki? That... has not been my experience.

I've never seen the UESP offline, but I can easily be wrong here, I don't have a lot of experience with the UESP.

I've personally never seen this site offline but I haven't been modding for very long, comparatively. UESP does seem to get overloaded (or something) pretty frequently -- it'll be fine and then it will stop responding for 10-15 minutes. Oh well.

I've seen it down (more than us anyway, the Wiki's only been down like 3 times in the last two years), and I get non/very slow response from them fairly often...
