Category SearchingEdit
While I am rapidly becoming convinced that attempting to use Categories for navigation and organization is a poor choice, at the very least, you can search them - if you set them to be searched in your preferences.
Note that this option is set by default for users not logged in, and for accounts made after... a certain date when they changed it. Quite a while ago. Your account is simply older than this change.
Granted, the change should have been there from the beginning, or organization should have been done manually. But at the least this is available for now.

On PortalsEdit
Simple lists are also valuable, I think. Portals present a lot of information in a compact design, but lists tend to give a bit more organization to things.
Actually, I'm somewhat unsure of Portals, myself - as I said, they are very compact and dense, which may make them difficult to navigate. I looked into making Getting Started more consistent with the Portal design (since it's listed with the rest of the Portals) and eventually simply decided against it - the Portals do not have the ordered organization of the more straight-forward article found on the Category page. I've also been somewhat frustrated with the Scripting Portal - it's difficult to direct people to important things from it, I think.
Perhaps a more straight-forward on the article with a side-bar on the right for things like the "Things you can do" and "Useful Links" boxes, which I do think are valuable.

Modding TerminologyEdit
Originally the plan with the terminology discussion was to present the OBSE team with a coherent rationale for how terms should be used, and asking them to update their docs to be consistent. Unfortunately due to the Wiki crash as well as my own lack of free time, this never happened. I think perhaps it should soon; I need to re-read the page myself, at this point, however.
On a similar subject, I think the function articles desperately need the syntax standardized. The OBSE functions were mostly copied from the OBSE docs, but early on some were converted into a style more consistent with the original lay-out of the Wiki. To further muck things up, more recently several vanilla functions have been converted to the OBSE style syntax.
Personally I think the OBSE doc's version is quite satisfactory (and probably used by the majority of articles), but the older articles very much need to be updated.
