::Questions like this really belong in the Mods section of the ESF. Please post a thread there. I suspect they will want to see your mod list - if you use Wrye Bash, go to the Save tab, select your save, and right-click on the File header above the list of mods in that save. There'll be an option to Copy the list, so that you can Paste it somewhere (like in your thread). If you use OBMM, on the other hand, go to C:\Documents and Settings\<User>\Local Settings\Application Data\Oblivion\Plugins.txt (assuming a default Windows installation), which will contain the list. If you use neither, please download one or both (both are recommended), and use them.

Less Annoying Title
Did the title get your attention? Good. Okay, so I've got a problem. I wanted to make my own companion, and I'm kinda new at modding, so I didn't want to write script, dialogue, commands, blah, blah, blah. So, I made a copy of a companion mod I already had, and was just going to mess with the settings tofit my needs. Well, I got it just how I wanted it, and opened Oblivion. I went to where the original NPC had been, (and where my new one was supposed to be), and it was as if I had done nothing! Then, to top it all off, I went back to the CS, and found that not even the esp had saved the changes! (and yes, I did remember to save my work) AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
PLEEEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!! (hence the title)

: Did you set the original companion mod as the Active File when you loaded it up in the CS? Or did you enter a new filename when you saved your changes?
: It's generally not possible to change the contents of one .esp from another .esp. Instead you have to save your changes to the original .esp.
: Hope this helps. BTW, an obnoxious ALL_CAPS!!!!! title is less likely to grab attention than you might think. For more information, see Internet Etiquette. Scruggs 01:54, 30 May 2007 (EDT)
