Redirects & Nominated Articles[edit | edit source]
I don't know if it is my broken down old browser or what, but clicking the "Read more..." link on the featured article in the Modeling Portal sent me to the Creature Meshes 101 which redirected me to Blender: Creature Meshes 101 and that redirect didn't work to send me on to Blender/Creature Meshes 101. Is this just my browser or is there a limit in the redirects? This also happened in Custom Sword in Blender and Custom Shield in Blender so I changed the initial redirect for all three of them to the location that the pages ended up at. But if two redirects are an issue, its something that we might want to note for future reference when moving pages around.
Should there be a link to the Nominated Articles in the tag that says its a nominated article? Or would that just be redundant? My first thought when seeing the tag was that I wanted to see what else was in this category and I tried to click on the "Nominated Article" title when I saw the tag and, of course, that didn't work to get to the category page. I would suggest using the word "nominated" in the first line as the link back to the Articles Nominated to be Featured category.

- Double redirects are always an issue, thanks for fixing that I hadn't noticed. Wrye moved those pages some time ago and replaced the : with a / to create subpages. I assume he forgot to check for double redirects. You can view a complete list of double redirects here (this list should be empty).
- Be bold is the Wiki motto, so go ahead and add the link to the template, if it's disliked by another editor it will be discussed on the talk page. I think it's a good idea.

- Well, I cleaned out the double redirects. My next question is: Should talk pages even have redirects? It seems pretty pointless for a talk page to have a redirect unless someone is actively searching for the talk page on an already redirected page.

- Agreed that the Nominated tag should direct to the category. On Talk page redirects, yes, because you can link to them, especially from the forums, and those links aren't easy to find, so the redirect is important.

- Ah, that makes sense about the talk page redirects. I didn't think of that, but I figured there might be a reason since there were so many which is why I asked and didn't just delete them.
