Morrowind Weapons[edit source]

Technically speaking, the statistically best unique weapon in Morrowind was Fang of Haynekhtnamet, which does 13-30 Thrust damage + 20-40 Shock Damage on Touch, with a speed of 2.5. Unfortunately, the enchantment only gets 10 uses. Therefore, Eltonbrand is probably the best unique weapon in the game, as it gives 10-60 Slash damage, plus 10-30 Fire Damage and Fortify Attack 30pts, with a speed of 1.5, and 100 uses. The Fang gets massively higher damage than any of the weapons you listed as "not the best" while it's charged, and only Hopesfire can best Eltonbrand in equally charged states (but only has 1/5 the uses that Eltonbrand does)

Neither matches the pure output of your weapon, but I doubt your weapon gets as many uses as Eltonbrand... Could be wrong though, have not played the game in a long time.

I cannot remember how many charges the ebony scimitar used, with an enchant skill of 100 though it wasnt too many. If you were to use the Soul Trap glitch you could pump your skill up to about 1400 and it would begin to use negative charges per use, which in actual fact is just one per use. I suppose doing that would put all enchanted weapons on par and it would come down to raw power. I think I will edit my heading. Thanks for the reply, I don't think reviving an issue of such contraversy was the best of ideas, oh well.
  • Edit, With an enchant skill of 100, the Ebony Scimitar will use precisely 8 of its 400 charges per hit.

Deleting Images[edit source]

Only sysops can delete articles/images. GStaff regularly comes by to delete everything in the Articles for Deletion category. To delete an image, add it to that category.

In this particular case I e-mailed TS7 (as noted on the uploader's talk page). I'd like to get this off the Wiki asap. He'll delete the images and ban him when he's back in the office.

Ok cool, thanks for that. In future I'll email one of the Beth Staff. What is protocol in these situations, for future reference? Especially when the average user does not have the powers to (comprehensively) handle such things? Replace offending uploads with harmless pictures?
--Antares 05:37, 20 October 2008 (EDT)
Not sure about the protocol, this may even be the first case that requires more than just an {{afd}}. I considered uploading another image like you did, but I figured someone curious enough to look in the recent changes would also check the history of the images to see why they've been censored.

Long delay on this, but I think uploading that image over the XXX version posted was the right move. That, at least, prevents the image from being used in a page.

HawkFest Summonable Flag & CreateFullActorCopy[edit source]

You sent me this PM: I know this is well old, but you left it hanging, and never posted (look here to see what I am talking about) to say that you had it resolved. I happen to be doing something almost exactly the same in my mod and have a script that I believe to be flawless. So yeh, if you want a look, get back to me.
--Antares 08:40, 20 October 2008 (EDT)

Yes please! I've just aquired parts and built my new high-level PC, so I got back to modding since... 2 days! :-D... Right now I am heavily modding Caves of Marvles and A Provost of the Nine Divines (an intro to the previous), so your scripting help about this would be most welcome! --HawkFest 22:54, 22 October 2008 (EDT)

I am amazed at the timing of things, anyhow here are some notes on the script:
  • The script is on an object classified by the CS as an Activator, ie, it can be found in the Activator drop down menu/tab
  • I found the Bruma Statue Script to be quite helpful, but to get all the information you actually need to look at Martins Script (that is, when I was first writing my script, you shouldn't need to do this if you have access to mine)
  • Various comments on lines exist throughout the script, some of them are poor attempts at humor that I believed no one but me would ever see. Feel very free to ignore those
  • Yeh, I wrote the script largely by myself, so there could be errors. Please get back to me if there are. I also welcome any further questions you may have about it
Would you like me to post the script on your page or email it to you?
--Antares 02:51, 23 October 2008 (EDT)
Nice timing indeed :)
  • I guess that the Activator in question would be the statue base. I've done the same with a plate activator. I've visited the Bruma statue script, seen Martin's script, and my current script works very well for one instance of a statue. However I want more: the ability to remove the statue and recreate it as pleases the player, showing his current gear. It's the remove portion which puzzles me: when I do so, the statue doesn't seem to disappear as it's floating nearby (in my case under water), as if it has become an NPC actor (I can hear it drown and such - another mod idea... let's stick to what's been decided)! Then later on when I create a new statue, the previous one shows up "merged" with the new one, like Siamese, and so on every time I recreate the statue, ending with a big and horrible megalomaniac multiple-myself statue! Which would be interesting for another mod-monster idea, but not for this one... Since I wanted to move on with other aspects of the mod, I didn't dig further and left this statue creation functionality in the "to-do queue", but now would be the time to include it: the central point of Caves of Marvels is ready and this function is a part of it (although it doesn't involve any cave). I'll then move on working over 3 other areas for the Caves of Marvels mod (2 interior + one exterior spaces including buildings and another interior multiple cell). Here is a first preview draft: Caves of Marvels and Provost of the Nine Divines
  • You can post your script Wherever: on my page or on your page (or both?), or via e-mail to HawkFest's email here . I will post the resulting script I'll be able to program starting from your base. If in the end it's not based on yours, I'm sure that anyhow your commented script will be much enlightening (at least for your jokes.. ;-P), so I'll mention your effort in the credit section. Thanks in advance for your help, and regards
