"On Self" spells with an area[edit source]

If you use the latest version of the CS, you'll have an option for Touch range spells called "Touch spell explodes without target" (or something along those lines), which allows you to do the Point-Blank Area-Effect spells that you're looking for.

Alternatively, if you want the On Self animation, you could use a Scripted Effect to have an invisible activator cast the spell for you, which would work about the same.

Hope that helps!

Talk page responses[edit source]

Should usually go on the Talk page of the person you're talking to. You confused me greatly by answering Jonas Beattie in my Talk page. Responding on your own talk page can also make sense, but on a third party's really doesn't.

Also, you should indent your responses, it makes things easier to read. You can indent by starting a paragraph with a colon (':'). Thanks.

I'm sorry, I just want to help out people and I didn't knew that I wasn't allowed to answer questions at someone else's talk page. Thanks for also telling me about indenting a paragraph. I'm new to the formatting.
Darkness X Talk 9:57, 17 August 2009 (EDT)
You are allowed to, it's not really a rule. But Jonas probably won't see the answer on my page, and it confused me. So it would have been better on Jonas's page, really. That's all I'm saying.
And don't worry too much about the formatting, there's a lot to learn. Have you seen our Help section?

Still don't work[edit source]

you told me that i had to flag 'offers services', i did and it still won't offer things. UPDATE:After abandoning the mod several months ago, I was bored so I fiddled with some random things on that mod. I decided to make a completely new class for that merchant and it worked! He now offers spells like I wanted!--Oblivious12123 11:23, 2 September 2009 (EDT) updated:--Oblivious12123 07:26, 29 December 2009 (EST)

Dude, you're awesome[edit source]

Thanks so much for the great articles! They're excellent work!
Dragoon Wraith TALK 00:27, 7 October 2009 (EDT)

Thanks for the compliment, but to be honest, this is nothing yet. I've created a list with all the articles I'm currently creating (for the Category:Useful Code of course). I hope you like it:
  • Digit Code
  • Casting on self spells with an area
  • Creating a Bank
  • Creating a Music Playlist
  • Critical Hit
  • DeadCount on a weapon
  • Displaying an arrow's distance
  • Feign Death
  • Player's Leveled Spell
  • Sorters:
    • ALchemy Sorter
    • Soulgem Sorter
    • Weapon Sorter
    • Armor Sorter
    • Book sorter
  • Static Alchemy
  • Switching between Enchantments
  • Time Stop
  • ...
Some of the scripts are easy but others are for advanced scripters. I admit, some of the scripts already exist but I believe I can encourage modders by creating new articles with new ideas to make TES4 Oblivion a bit more interesting.

You have a Time Stop script? ...wow. I am impressed, not only at the quality of your articles but also your script. Though I suppose I should stop being surprised when people do things I thought impossible, hehe, it happens often in this community.
Anyway, you're absolutely right, these are great and should encourage people a lot. I'm really glad you're writing them.

Tools Listing[edit source]

I really like the Tools listing you've been adding on the pages but is it really necessary to add the "Construction Set" since this is the "Construction Set Wiki?" I realize some articles do not require the CS but I think it should be understood that the majority of articles on this site require the CS.

I didn't add the "Construction Set" link to the toolbox if the tutorial didn't require The Elder Scrolls Construction Set. It might confuse people if they don't understand why they need the CS. But if you think otherwise, maybe the link could be added to the optional tools section of the toolbox.
Feel free to help me add a toolbox to all tutorials, there are plenty of them left ...

Bot[edit source]

I'll ask Gstaff about it. You should probably use something like {{subst:Template:Welcome}} when you do this, I suspect, but we can worry about that when/if it gets approved. I should say that it took a lot of convincing on my part to get CSbot approved, so I don't know if I'll be able to get another approved.

I could probably run welcome.py myself, if it comes down to it, though. I'll ask, both about DXbot and the welcome thing.

Goodbye[edit source]

Due to school, website creation and programming I have little to no time to spend with the Construction Set or GECK to create mods (I barely play Oblivion or Fallout 3 these days). Though I really enjoyed using mods for the past few years. It had been a great inspiration source to me. I'm now into website design and soon ready to launch my own. So, this probably is the last time I'll edit the CS wiki, goodbye everyone! Darkness X Talk 09:49, 5 December 2010 (EST)
