::Uhh... why is this a category? Please don't make new categories unnecessarily, they confuse things somewhat. At any rate, in terms of dynamic shadows, I don't think we can. I think all shadows are done with ground texture painting or some such.

"Why is this a category?" Why are you asking, it obviously is. Don't refer people to the forums. The forums are useless for answering questions, in fact, Ive never had anyone answer any of my questions there, only here on the wiki, which, oddly enough, was designed for that very purpose, so don't even mention the forums as a source of information, they are not. Forums are filled with inane chatter and I don't have the time to trawl through pages of verbiage just to find an answer to one simple question. I asked questions there way back in 2006 and they still haven't been answered, so don't ever tell anyone to try the forums, it's counter-productive and a complete waste of everybody's time, the very opposite of good advice. What purpose do you believe the CS wiki serves? Why do you think it's here? Why would you refer a question to a forum? Why misdirect someone to the wrong place? It's like I ask where the library is and you send me to an asylum, wikis are for information retrieval, forums are for conversations, try not to get them mixed up in future. And NO, shadows are not "...done with ground texture painting or some such." So if you have nothing to contribute here then don't make things worse by leaving behind the wrong information.

REMEMBER: The Question here is "How To Make Shadows", don't waste space here with anything else, this CATEGORY is for Shadow-Casting, surely someone who uses this wiki must know the answer.:--[[User:Waerloga|Waerloga]]

NPC nifs have: "shader = ShadowLightShader" under NiTriShape / Attributes

This shader is found only on the player's model and all NPCs, and any clothing or armor they are wearing and is responsible for making those meshes cast dynamic shadows. It is not found on Static or moveable objects.
