This is a huge breakthrough for the mod community if it works as described.

There's a glitch in the document where it says: "Ctrl+Shift+U- updates the size of the selected group form based on the <linebreak> Ctrl+Shift+data it finds in the file"

Thanks for fixing that, Ashileedo! --Dev akm 18:44, 1 February 2007 (EST)

Questions:

Although it's not stated explicitly, it sounds like this will enable the TES4 equivalent of the old TES3 Merge to Master option in the CS. Is this true?
Can any of these functions be used to alter the FormIDs in an existing plugin, or only to control which FormIDs will be used for new plugin entries you create?
Is it possible to use the FID file to artificially inflate the list of used FormIDs so that remote team members can collaborate without using the same FormIDs? -- in other words, by pre-assigning different start points for each contributor? (since very few team projects are done on the same LAN)

To incorporate this page into the wiki, I'd suggest making a "Using the Construction Set" category or portal, and put it there. Then you could also take the Main Menus category and put it there.

I don't think it has to be on the Main page (pretty advanced topic and not everyone needs to use it), but I agree on the Portal thing. We haven't decided yet what portals will include these things, maybe a portal for plugin/masterfile editing.
I'll try to remember it, feel free to leave a note on the portal's talk page when it's created. Thanks for the input I almost forgot to make a portal for this.

I think this would fit best in the Building and Editing section, especially if what was on the BS thread is true (it should only be used if you're not using Oblivion.esm).--Haama 01:46, 20 January 2008 (EST)
