The amount of damage you block when fighting hand-to-hand is governed by your block skill and this setting. This setting reduces the amount of damage blocked when you block with your hand rather than a shield. In other words, a value of 1.0 means that your hand blocks as much damage as a shield, whereas a value of 0.5 means that your hand only blocks half the damage of a shield.

Description
