My Oblivion Mods

Thievery in the Imperial City

Derrien Venoit runs the Discount Merchandise in the Imperial City's Market District. Not only has he no qualms about buying stolen goods, the thieves in the Imperial City know that Derrien even gives tips about where to find worthwhile loot.

Official Plugins Unnerfed

Ever got annoyed by the gifts of long-lost relatives, strange rumors and curious letters you get delivered as soon as you leave the prison sewers? This is a patch for the official plugins that stops them from starting automatically. Now you need to do certain things to start the quests. This also serves as rebalancing-fix, because the progress of the more rewarding plugins is delayed until you have established yourself in the associated guild.

Stealth Overhaul

This mod attempts to make sneaking around more interesting and worthwhile, wearing heavy armor is now a serious issue, and sneak-attacks with the right weapons are much more powerful.

It also adds new quick-keys for complete outfits and tweakes the sneak-key to allow you to stop sneaking when you release it.

Makes extensive use of new functions added by Oblivion Script Extender

Fun Stuff

More or less useful mini-mods I made for diversion or to prove a point in the forums.

The Generous Giant of Tamriel

Download

A demonstration how an inventory item can be used to attach a script to an actor on-the fly. Give a dagger to every NPC in Tamriel and become known as the generous giant...

Dagger Mould

Download

A further step of the demo above - give the dagger to a smith and for each gold-coin you pay for his repairing-services he will add one silver-dagger to his inventory.

Cavein of Doom Spell

Download

Fun with references. A spell that creates a cavein-trap a few feet above the targeted actor and activates the trap after waiting for a second.

Zombification Spell

Download

Demonstrates how one random actor can be exchanged by a generic other actor and at the same time avoiding the fade-in effect on the newly created replacement. Here used for a spell that turns the victim into a zombie.

Shadowstepping Spell

Download

A demonstration of using trigonometry calculations to teleport the player behind another actor, as well as temporarly adding and readying a lesser-power. Cast the spell on a NPC and you will be able to teleport right behind his back as often as you like (until the spell's duration is over).

Grenades

Download

Adds potion-grenades to the Slash'n'Smash shop in the Imperial City. Demonstrates how a throwing weapon can be emulated by a long reach and an enchantment that removes the weapon when it hits.

My Oblivion Tools

Texture Replacer

A tool to reskin the .NIF models used in Morrowind and Oblivion.

MP3 Conversion Batch-File

A batchfile using an executable version of the freeware MP3-encoder LAME to convert all WAV-files within a folder to MP3 format required by Oblivion.

Batch File for unpacking BSAs

Since many users are overwhelmed by the command prompt, I wrote this batch-file to help them. Copy this file together with TES4BSA.EXE into the Oblivion\Data-Folder, and start it to unpack all original Oblivion-BSA-files to the new folder Oblivion\Data\Unpacked_BSAs
