Entim 11:07, 27 October 2006 (EDT): My tests indicate that the hit sound, and particle effect of melee weapon hit is controlled by the bhkListShape's material. Hit sound, and particle effect of arrow hit is controlled by the material of the bhkListShape's child.

Entim 08:51, 13 November 2006 (EST): I have inserted most of the text and pictures into tables, to make it show up properly both in IE and Mozilla based browsers. This workaround makes editing harder, so if you know a better solution please tell here, or edit the article.
