Got A Question?

The wiki is designed for two purposes: sharing information, and organizing information. If you have a question about modding for Oblivion, knowing where to post your question will help you get the answer you need while keeping the wiki readable..

  • Questions about a specific topic: Each article on the wiki has a corresponding TALK page for discussion of that topic. If your question relates directly to a topic such as Book_Formatting or a specific scripting function like MoveTo, it should be posted on the TALK page for that topic. EX: TALK:MoveTo.
  • User Questions: Each wiki user has his own TALK page as well. If your question relates directly to your own project, your TALK page is the best place for discussion. EX: My TALK page is User_talk:Scruggs.
  • General Questions: The wiki also has a Questions category. Questions can be posted on individual pages in this category. If a similar question has already been asked, consider adding your question to that question's page. For information on creating a Question page, see below.
  • CS Forums:The Official Elder Scrolls forums have a forum devoted to CS-related questions. Elder Scrolls Construction Set Forum.

If you are new to the wiki, and simply can't figure out how or where to post your question, add it to this page. It will be moved to the appropriate location, and someone will leave a note on your TALK page informing you of the new location.

How Do I Create A New Question Page?

  • Make a new page for your question by entering the url in your browser's address bar. Note that underscores are used to indicate spaces between words. Ex: to create a page entitled "How do I edit Leveled Lists", enter:
http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/How_do_I_edit_Leveled_Lists

This will create a new page, which can then be edited.

  • Click the Edit button for your new page and type in your question. Sign your question by typing ~~~~ at the end of your comments. This lets other users know who you are.
  • At the bottom of your page, include [[Category:Questions]]. This will place the page in the Questions category so other users will be able to view it.
  • Save the page. Don't forget to include a brief description in the summary box.

Getting Answers

  • If you answer a question, or someone else answers it for you, edit the page to remove it from the questions category, replacing [[Category:Questions]] with [[Category:Answered]]. If the answer is of common interest, include [[Category:Solutions]] to add it to the Solutions category.
  • If you find a question that has already been answered, but which you'd like more information on, edit the existing page and put it back into the Questions category, rather than creating a brand-new page.
  • If your question has been answered, and is not likely to be of interest to other users, dispose of it by moving it to the Articles for Deletion category, or move it to your User TALK page.

Follow the links at the bottom of this page to access the "questions" categories.
