Welcome to the Wiki[edit source]
Hi! I wanted to welcome you to our Wiki, and thank you for starting the X-marker article. It's great to see people helping where they can.
I'd like to encourage you to get involved; if you haven't already, please see our Welcome to the Wiki and Editing guides - they have lots of tips for how you can help us out here. There's even a list of simple things you can do to improve the Wiki.
Unfortunately, I also have to point out some rules. As per the Standards and Policies, bylines, signatures, and the like are not allowed in the Article space. This may be confusing because in some cases, there are such things where they shouldn't be; unfortunately the Wiki does not have a large enough staff to clean up everything (for quite some time no rules were strictly enforced on the Wiki, so older pages can still have things that aren't allowed), and there are also pages in the Article space which are supposed to have signatures (discussions and the like).
The X-marker article, however, is not such a case. While the article currently exists as only a request, it is intended to be a full-fledged article at some point. Therefore, signing your contribution presents something of a problem.
At this point, we have some options:
- If you are interested in improving the article yourself, you are strongly encouraged to do so. Please maintain a formal, neutral, third-person tone. Pictures, sub-headings, etc, are generally strongly encouraged (though probably unnecessary for this article in particular).
- If you've said all that you're interested in saying, you can allow Wiki members to modify your contribution so that it fits within the guidelines.
- If you do not wish to be edited, and only want to leave a comment, it may be moved to the article's Talk page and used as a basis for a future article. This will be treated as a standard Talk page comment, and therefore will not be edited but may be archived and moved. The bolded intro line will also have to be removed.
- If all of the above are unacceptable to you, you may remove the comment entirely.
Further, when posting any comment with your signature (on Talk pages), please type ~~~~ to insert your signature. This automated signature will include a link to your User page, and also includes the date and time of the post. This helps keep track of who says what and when.
Thank you, and I hope that the Wiki is both helpful to you, and that you continue to help all Oblivion modders with your contributions.
