When trying to edit the face on an NPC the Tes Set Crashes, I have found the solution to this problem is simple, all you have to do is check the Preview head box BEFORE going into the edit face tab. If that doesn't work, try opening and closing the NPC once before doing this. I don't know what causes this issue, but this seems to fix it.

Troubleshooting Construction Set Crashes[edit | edit source]

Common problems that may cause the CS to crash.

When saving a plugin file for the first time[edit | edit source]

When trying to save a plugin file for the first time the CS can crash. To avoid this, save before you edit anything or open up the Render Window. Also, if you've already run into this problem, use a different file name (there are some temp files that may cause problems) and change the name in Windows Explorer afterwards.

  • If the Render Window automatically opens when you start the CS, you can stop it by marking "Skip Initial Cell Load" under Preferences->Misc.

If all else fails, edit the land height of an exterior cell. It doesn't matter how much, or where. The mod should be cleaned later, to remove the unnecessary data.

Crash when using F-key in CS[edit | edit source]

Bug
The Elder Scrolls Construction Set can crash when using the 'F' key in the Render Window. The 'F' key usually causes objects to Fall down to the nearest surface, and is therefore an important tool.
Cause
This bug generally occurs when the Fall function is used on a reference whose model does not have Havok does not have anything below it and falls a large (500+ unit) distance.
Solution
Use the 'T' key (Top) to view the object top-down, and drag it over another object before pressing 'F'.

If you're using a de-isolation trick such as Esp Mastering, see the De-Isolation Tutorial for more information on CS crashes.
