Just some comments:
- To make links within the Wiki just put [[ ]] around the page's name, (e.g. DDS Files)
- You should always create MIP maps or the objects look very bad on a larger distance.
- A NIF may have more than one texture, and thus also more than one normal map and/or glowmap (and only a few objects actually have a glowmap)
- Archiveinvlidation.txt is only needed when you want to change an existing object (e.g. changing the in-stock elven helmet as opposed to creating a new, different looking elven helmet)
- Just the FormID won't help, you need to change the first two digits, best link to this page: FormID
- And finally: do we really need another retexturing tutorial?

- Dragoon Wraith TALK 12:58, 13 July 2006 (EDT): At some point, we need someone with a good Wiki background (i.e. been here a while and knows how things work) and texturing skills/interest to incorporate all the tutorials into one, master tutorials.
- Actually, every subject needs this. The thing is that almost all of us here are scripters, and scripters who know how to script, so we don't pay much attention to the tutorials. Or at least I don't, and I haven't seen much attention paid to the tutorials. I could be wrong; wouldn't want to speak for other people.
- I assume most of us, even those who aren't scripters are of a generation that is used to try out things on their own and after utterly failing several times finding out how it's done right. It's a matter of ambition to figure something out on my own, and a matter of pride to rather spend a week trying it or researching in the web (or in the wiki in case of Oblivion) than asking someone else.
- What I do in the Wiki is adding info for myself and likewise-minded modders so that we have a reference at hand during modding, most of the time you have a nice insight on what I'm currently doing when you look at my contributions. (Obviously I'm currently landscaping and interior-building, nothing worth contributing)
- As for tutorials, my ability to concentrate on step-by step instructions is virtually nonexistant. As soon as I have a rough understanding about how things work, I prefer to go on on my own, and I also expect this from people I try to tell things. I "grew up" with computers that had a Basic-interpreter's command prompt as UI. LOL, most new modders nowadays wouldn't even be able to play the game...--JOG 16:07, 13 July 2006 (EDT)
