I'm in the midst of an Oblivion to Romance of the Three Kingdoms Total Conversion. This project may never come to fruition, but I have managed to learn some things about modding and its fun and gives me a little programming "fix".
I've been adding some of what I've learned to the Wiki. Hopefully it makes this a better place for new modders.
The Value of Documentation[edit source]
Working on the documentation for my mod before I actually write the scripts. Learned the value of this programming in php. Nothing like getting thousands of lines of code written only to find out there was a much more efficient way to do it.
History Research[edit source]
Trying to get my facts straight about the ROTK era before putting anything down. Built a map with Open Office Draw and have been plotting out as much information as possible to help with decision making. Thanks Wikipedia! I hope your data on ROTK is accurate.
China Heightmap[edit source]
May be a bit on the LARGE size for a continent. But my vision for the game is more about strategy than RPG content.
