Dragoon Wraith TALK 10:05, 2 July 2007 (EDT): Just to be sure, you've tested a clean install of Oblivion with only a single mod, which only changes the value of fVanityModeWheelMult, and found that it is overridden by the game? Otherwise it could be a mod conflict, rather than the game mandating a specific value for the GMST (especially when the GMST's default value does not match the mandated value?).

Anyway, a change like that is not minor. Minor changes are things like spelling and grammar fixes, formatting fixes, etc. Adding, removing, or changing content to a page should not be flagged as minor. And in this case, it is certainly a change worthy of attention.

I'm not sure how to properly post my response to this. Just click "edit," then lead with colons? Is the "+" to start a new topic?

I redid my testing and it looks like I indeed had some sort of a conflict, possibly something in my save. I tried it with a clean save fresh through the sewers that never had any mods enabled. And the GMST does change with a modded value. So I'll back off my changes to that page.

Thanks for clarifying what a "minor" change is, and for my poor testing procedure. I'll check all my other changes to the Wiki to make sure I didn't state anything not verifyable.

Yes, you've responded perfectly, though recently the Wiki has decided to standardize signatures at the end of posts, which was the opposite of my habit prior to this decision. So in the future, it's better to put signatures at the end of a post. You don't need to change things you've already signed.

As for your edit, that's fine. A change like that really does need to be tested, though, so I appreciate your double-checking. It is generally recommended in Wikis to "be bold", but accuracy is very important here, so generally, double-check, to make sure, but then feel free to change whatever you think is wrong. If it's something strange like this one was, you might want to mention what tests you did in the page's Talk page.

As for the minor edit thing, nearly everyone gets that one wrong at first. So certainly don't sweat that.
