About Gregbert[edit | edit source]

Ahoy! There's not much to say about me tbh. :(

I got into modding the same way everyone does: Played the game, a friend got into modding, and so I got into it too. This was 28th April 2007, so I'm fairly new to the scene. I've not produced many mods that I've released publicly, and the ones I have are small. I do modding mostly for myself, although sometimes have some huge plan to add an entirely new area into the game. Sufficient to say, it's not happened yet, but here's hoping.

I'm not amazing with making new meshes or new textures, but I can do remodeling and retexturing to a certain extent. I find that most of my work is from using the Ob Vanilla meshes and changing them to something more unique and useable...

Please note that Greg Simmonds (Gregbert) is now known as Kengon on the TES Nexus and Bethsoft Forums.

Mods[edit | edit source]

As I said, I've not really released many mods publicly to date. The ones that I have are for TES:IV and can be found at:

Bravil Harbour: 1.2.0 This is a small mod that adds a dock outside Bravil. It's small and humble, but adds a certain ambiance to the area, imo.

Snowspring Lodge: 1.1.0 The Snowspring Lodge is a player owned house at Dive Rock, with a twist! After completing a short quest and buying the lodge, visitors will arrive at the lodge at various times throught the month; bringing income to the lodge and thus the player. I mainly did this to experiment with Quests, Dialouge, Vendors, and Houses.

Wayshrines Improved: 1.0.1 This basicly adds some light and a particle effect to the wayshrines in Oblivion, making them better to look at and a whole lot nicer imo. Now there's a reason to go there. This was one of my first Particle Effects that I actually used ingame.

Planting Mod OUTDATED This adds the option to plant seeds in certain areas around the world from seeds, and gives you somewhere between no and 5x of the result product. It's fairly simplistic, but has lots and lots of new entries! I aim tro redo this sometime, but some of the bugs are fairly huge...

Tutorials/Help Articles[edit | edit source]

To date, I've written 2 articles:

Developing Successful Mods

Originally aimed to help intermediate to novice users (although it's apparently been "eye opening" for some of the better modders, too, apparently). It can be found on:

Bethsoft Forums: Developing Successful Mods

The Elder Scrolls Construction Wiki: Developing Successful Mods

TES Nexus: Developing Successful Mods

Creating a House

Hopefully this will help people who've just started using the CS to make a house, which was probably the first thing that I wanted to do when I found out I could mod for Oblivion. It's only on the Wiki at the moment:

The Elder Scrolls Construction Wiki: Creating a House

Due to edits and improvements, I can't take full responsibility or praise for the article: See it's history page to see contributers.

Development[edit | edit source]

Nothing in the pipeline at all... I'll be working on something in no time at all, though.

Plans[edit | edit source]

At the moment, I'm back into modding for Ob. So far, my plans are:

Make a Quest mod with a fairly hefty plot.

Recreate and/or update my ancient Planting mod.

Hopefully expand on some other cities like I did for Bravil Docks.

Be more prominent in the modding community.

Learn how to make textures better.

Make a meaningful house or city mod, nothing too much like the usual stuff.
