Wiki Rules Regarding Bylines

Hello, Gregbert, I know I've encouraged you to post your Guide to Developing Successful Mods here on the Wiki, and I think it's an excellent guide and I'm glad it's here.

However, the Wiki has rules regarding article "ownership" - namely, submission of any content here is supposed to signify releasing that content to the community, to be edited, moved, cut, or even deleted as the community needs. Because no article "belongs" to any one person, we do not allow "bylines" or author attributions on the article itself. The History page of every article gives a very detailed breakdown of exactly who is responsible for what on a page, and that is supposed to be sufficient for authors.

If these rules were unclear to you, I apologize. If you do not accept these terms, then there are a number of other excellent places for hosting such guides - TES Nexus and PES both have Guide sections where your excellent guide can be preserved (the problems with the Forums should be obvious). However, in such a case, we would have to remove the article from the Wiki. Otherwise, if the above terms are acceptable, I would ask you to remove your name from the article. I would also like you to remove the instructions for others to comment in the thread, and not here - because discussions of Wiki articles should take place on the Wiki. The Wiki is seen as dynamic, where a forum post is not. Linking to the original thread as "Based on" material is appropriate and recommended, however.

Thank you, and again, I am very sorry if I didn't make these things clear to you before. I very much appreciate this guide and I think it is very well done, and I definitely want to see it preserved in a more suitable location than the forums, but I also have a responsibility for enforcing the rules here. So, sorry again, and thank you for the guide, wherever it ends up.
