Why are the newbie-tutorials suddenly mixed up with the advanced ones out of useful code? --JOG 20:58, 23 August 2006 (EDT)

Hmm... Maybe it would be a good idea to make the ones for beginners as subcategories, and basically revert the Tutorial page back to the way it was before? That might make things a little harder... Maybe a beginner's subcategory? Something with these tutorials in it:

Welcome to the Wiki

My First Dungeon

Basic Landscaping Tutorial

Basic NPC Creation Tutorial

Basic NPC Patrols Tutorial

A beginner's guide

Scripting Tutorial: My First Script

World Space Tutorial

Unclean Dialogue

Mod Cleaning Tutorial

BSA Unpacker Tutorial

Retexturing Made Easy

Anything else? The Imperial Dragon 02:14, 24 August 2006 (EDT)

All "Scripting Tutorial: My ...". I'd rather say, we make an advanced users subcategory and move the advanced tutorials in there, from the current scripting tutorials only "Casting Spells From An Activator" would fit in there, the rest in "Useful Code" isn't worked out detailed enough to be called a tutorial, and belongs either to "Solutions" and "Useful Code" or just to "Useful Code". --JOG 02:57, 24 August 2006 (EDT)

Why move them? Just add them to the "Beginners" category. No need to remove any of them from any list.

I think "My First Script" is fine as a beginner's tutorial, and I do know this is the Scripting category, but I might as well put this here because you brought it up here, and this is semi-relevant. Just a beginners tutorials category, if someone is looking for something in particular, they can look in the appropriate category, but I see no reason for an advanced section, as even advanced users may need to check up on old beginner tutorials every now and then. A "Beginner's Tutorials" category, however, would help people new to the CS in general get started, then look in specific categories when they have more expertise in that area. Most beginners had a hard time finding their way to the tutorials section anyway, when they then find a tutorial like the casting activators one they'll give up so soon that they'll never even see the beginner's tutorials section. "The wiki is of no help, the tutorials there are for experienced modders only..." --JOG 02:47, 25 August 2006 (EDT)

There are a lot of beginner tutorials here. Anyway, I thought that when new people click on "Help" in the CS, they look in the tutorial category, then click on something in there to help. The wiki replaces the "Help" thingie (for lack of a better word at the moment :P ) The tutorials are for learning how to do things. The Imperial Dragon 05:49, 26 August 2006 (EDT)

Uhm... yes. The whole point of this discussion is that every second tutorial in the tutorials category is so far advanced, that it will scare newbies away in the moment they open them. This is why I proposed to move them into an "advanced tutorial" section...--JOG 06:33, 26 August 2006 (EDT)

Okay, so an Advanced Scripting category AND a Beginners category seems to be in order? ?( The Imperial Dragon 14:42, 26 August 2006 (EDT)
