My First Jail Tutorial

So you may have built a city, or a town, or something that has to have some kind of jail. Creating a jail is pretty simple, because there is no major uplinking. You just have to create a jail that the game will realize, since when a crime is committed, you are sent to the nearest jail in game.

You will need: a guard, (someone who will catch you when breaking the law) an interior jail cell (preferabley with a prison cell and locked gate, so the player cannot escape the interior cell uplinked to the world (you may either link it directly to an exterior, or to a building. The game will realize both) an exterior cell (where you will be realeased after you have served you sentence.)

Lets get started!

1) To create a jail cell, (if you have not already), try using the interior cell wall. To find this, go under Static/Architecture/Interior. To create a jail cell and wall, go under Static/Architecture/Prison. To create a door for the prison cell, go under Door/Architecture/PrisonCellDoor, (when you have placed it in game, give it a lock setting of anything but "Needs a Key", unless you want to make sure the player cannot escape, and has no choice but to serve thier sentence) Finally, so the player can serve his sentence, place a bed.

2) You should have a room outside the Jail Cell, if only a minor one. (Extremely Recommended decorating this before you decide the world is ready for your mod.) In the room OUTSIDE the jail cell you are going to use, place a container called Stolen Goods. Find this in Container/Clutter/StolenGoods. Place it somewhere around the room and again, lock it, so players must work to retrive their goods.

3)Now we have to create some of the minor uplinking stuff. Place INSIDE your jail cell, a Prison Marker, which can be found in Doors/PrisonMarker. Dont uplink this yet, it will come later.

4) Place another jail marker where you want your player to be realeased. (Place somewhere NEAR your jail cell, like in the exterior. So its not too wildly random, unless you have some secret evil plot.LOL! Sorry, back to jail cells.....)

5) Using the 2nd jail cell marker you just placed, check teleport, and from the drop down list, select your cells name (In my case KvatchCastlePrison, since im rebuilding it lol) and then in the second drop down list, select the 1st prison marker. Now that you have done that, select okay, and place the yellow marker with the pink arrow correctly. Make sure its touching the bottom of your prison marker, since it should have been placed a little upwards, and make sure you do the same for the other. (KEEP THE YELLOW MARKER AND PRISON MARKER TOGETHER)

6) YAY YOUR DONE! Now just save your mod, upload it on oblivion, and test it out! Have lotz of fun building your jais!
