Increasing from the default of 2.0 to 3.0 has an obvious increase in grab strength, but the maximum value appears to be capped. Further experimentation is needed. --JT 18:53, 27 May 2006 (EDT)

Based on my testing, it seems as though the Grab function of the Oblivion engine only works on a single part of a model's skeleton at a single time. It applies the force directly to this part of the model's skeleton. However, all of the other "dangly bits" of the model's skeleton act against the grab function, with a cumulative effect due to gravity. A simple object like a bottle of alcohol, a warhammer, or a book can be easily lifted and thrown about in spite of the simulated weight of the object; for instance, an iron warhammer with my plugins weighs 60.0, but can be tossed many dozens of feet thanks to the high grab power setting I have. However, no matter how high my grab power setting is, a human body cannot be lifted or dragged effectively up a hill, because all four of the limbs (and most likely every "segment" of the body) receives a cumulative gravity effect against the grab power instead of just having a single gravity effect which is divided amongst all of the body parts.

Without intimate knowledge of the Havok sim's source code or of Oblivion's implementation thereof, however, this can never be confirmed. --JT 01:57, 18 October 2006 (EDT)
