Some clarifications on the format for the 16-bit raw images needed for import would be helpful. I can create a 16-bit image in Photoshop and save it as Photoshop Raw. Is this correct?

Yes, imported RAW images should have a header of 0 and use the IBM PC Byte Order. Noah: 04/14/06

Note: You will need Photoshop CS1 or newer if you want to actually create your heightmap in Photoshop. Photoshop 7 can convert to 16-bit grayscale, but cannot do any real editing in 16-bit grayscale mode. gblues: 04/20/06

Heightmap range[edit source]

Is it just me or is the range of the heightmap limited to about -131070/131070 to 131070/-131070 ? This wouldn't even cover Kvatch in the Tamriel world space!? Am I missing something vital?

As is visible in the overview window, the heightmap editor supports up to a grid of 16x16, 1024x1024 pixel, square sections. At the furthest extent in the upper left corner, the units for cell -256,255 should end at around -1048576,1048576. The editing window displays a maximum of 2x2, 1024x1024 pixel, square sections. The furthest extent of the default, center sections would line up with your numbers. Noah: 05/31/06

Geocontrol Sea Level[edit source]

I'm creating a new worldspace using GeoControl, and was wondering is anyone knew what translated into Sea Level? The units given in this tutorial do not match up at all with those in the GeoControl editor. EDIT: I think I've got it. EDIT: Nope. That wasnt it.

I found that approximately 235 in GeoControl seems to be the corresponding level for water. Great little program isn't it? --Nixlplix 08:32, 14 May 2008 (EDT)

Erosion + Lasso[edit source]

Does Erosion in fact work for land smoothing if you use the lasso? I tried eroding a rather large island to make hills and slopes easier to climb, using several combinations of settings. At no time did it appear to actually do anything, and the plugin did not even get an asterisk by the name to indicate that anything had been changed after applying erosion.--Nixlplix 08:37, 14 May 2008 (EDT)
