Byline

Apparently, I'm supposed to say that I'm the author of that article here. I have no idea why. lol AnImbroglio

At the time you wrote the article you signed it with your name. We believe that signing an article is detrimental for the Wiki. People are less likely to modify a signed article, because they don't want to offend the original author, or think it's rude to edit other people's articles; signing an article implies ownership. This is something we don't want, because a Wiki's strength is based on the fact that everyone can improve everything.

The Wiki has always had the rule that article are not allowed to be signed. Those rules were not properly enforced until 3 years ago. Before that time, people signed their articles and no one pointed out this was against the rules. That is why we understand that authors may have contributed their articles under the assumption that it's alright to add a byline/signature. Because of this it would be very rude of us to remove all bylines without consulting the original authors first. We would like to do that, but we don't want to offend anyone. That's why we added a notice asking the original authors for permission to remove the byline. So that is what we ask you.

Summary: We would like to remove the signature from the article, because we believe that would be better for the Wiki. Are you ok with that?
