Talk:Introduction to Pluggy Arrays

About to drop dead asleep on the keyboard. Will finish tomorrow. Note that "Multidimensional Pluggy Arrays" is a planned (near future, I hope) article. Please don't "fix" the link. --Speedo 02:19, 26 March 2008 (EDT)
- Finished. If anyone has a better sample script or more examples of when arrays are usefull, by all means throw them in. --Speedo 12:42, 26 March 2008 (EDT)
- The info and writing's great, but it feels more like a second tutorial than a first... hmm, specifically I think you're jumping the gun a bit by talking about Protection and Management before the Example and Data Types. Can't put my finger on it right now (not quite awake yet).
- I don't like the example, but only because it would be incredibly CPU taxing if everyone started to put it in their mod. I can put up the Inventory Tracker script a bit later - it's similar, has a bit more to talk about, and can have the clear warning to tell people not to do it.--Haama 13:27, 26 March 2008 (EDT)
- Tweaked the layout somewhat and added a warning to the example. If anyone can expand the "What Are Arrays"... by all means. It's probably the weakest section atm (but one of the most important) - I'm just not really sure how else to explain it to someone who's not at all familiar with arrays. Maybe links to an external programming site with a good explanation? I considered Wikipedia: Arrays, but I don't think it's very good at all at explaining what arrays actually are. --Speedo 16:22, 26 March 2008 (EDT)
Categories[edit source]
Should this also be placed in the Array Functions category?--Haama 15:36, 15 April 2008 (EDT)
- I think it'd end up lost in the function list if you put it in the actual category. A link to it on the page though wouldn't hurt.--Speedo 15:49, 15 April 2008 (EDT)
