Permanence?Edit

I've noticed that the permanency of this function seems to not be guaranteed: anybody know why, or more importantly, of a solution? I've noticed a similar problem if I create an override plugin that sets certain NPCs as essential which is that they gradually become nonessential over time.

I've considered the possibility of script functions being responsible, as you'd expect for key characters like Baurus and Jauffre, but it's also been happening with NPCs who aren't (or at least don't appear to be) referenced by any scripts or quests.

I'm guessing that it's as a result of a discrepancy with a base record with different essential values being stored in the savefile and one (or more) masters and plugins, and possibly the various sources being referenced inconsistently may result in an ACBS record without the essential flag set being pulled out of a hat at some point, but that's pure conjecture on my part. And somewhat vague with it!

Anybody know of a solution, or at least have a more coherent explanation than my own theory? --vom 20:12, 13 April 2010 (EDT)
