Under Body Data in the article it says "Specify body model and texture files...". Is it even possible to change the body model (other than the tail)? --Stickman 14:20, 26 March 2006 (EST)

I found that in the Object Window, under WorldObjects>Characters there are a bunch of EditorIDs which point to a few body NIFs. I think the same NIFs are used for most of the races, with only the textures overridden.

Interestingly, the StarkRealityFemaleUpperBody object has a model value of "Characters\_Male\FemaleUpperBody.NIF", and I noticed that in the meshes archive there is a FemaleUpperBodyNude.NIF. To me this just begs for a nude mod.  ;)

However, I haven't figured out how to assign a new NIF to one of those objects. The dialog box that comes up has a button to assign the NIF file, but I can't get it to do anything other than give me an error message "Invalid path".--Mozz 21:37, 26 March 2006 (EST)

Update: I figured out the "Invalid path". The NIF you select must be inside a subdirectory of your Oblivion install directory. Once I moved the unpacked BSA contents into the game's Data subdirectory I was able to select from the built-in NIFs.--Mozz 21:47, 26 March 2006 (EST)

Update 2: Okay, that didn't work, but Gameplay>Settings... and editing sRaceFemaleUpperBodyModel did. I find it surprising that the same model is used for so many races and just textures are used to vary the appearance. But I guess it makes sense if you have some control over the parameters of the model. Hmm.--Mozz 22:08, 26 March 2006 (EST)
