This is espically confusing for beginners (like myself). I have not seen any examples that provide basic guidelines on testing for refrence IDs or object IDs. Because of this I had often gotten stuck for hours trying to fix something and often give up because I don't know what to do and the wiki can't help. If there is somewhere I may have overlooked then please make it more aparrent or accessable in the scripting section. | This is espically confusing for beginners (like myself). RE: Idle Animation Tutorial
Fella 08:48, 17 January 2008 (EST): Thanks for cleaning up my tutorial, I didn't know about the bylines rule! I'll remember to leave it out next time!
- No problem, it's easier to add links when you know where they could be added. I should get started on a custom animation tutorial for blender, but I'm too busy with the portals right now. You might want to join the organization discussion at the Construction Set Forums.

Dragoon Wraith TALK 23:52, 28 June 2007 (EDT): Holy cow, you've done a ton today. Thanks for all your hard work!
- Qazaaq 09:47, 29 June 2007 (EDT): I decided to click on random page a few times and see what's on here, along the way I fixed the errors I came across. I didn't know there were that many unlinked pages. I'll probably do some more today, the settings category could use some work and maybe I can turn some solutions or answered questions into a tutorial. That or I'm going to finish another version of Let the People Drink!
User:Leon_85213:48, 24 October 2007 (EDT)~:- Is DragoonWraith the head of this wiki or something. I see sometimes he talks about things that really wouldn't concern anyone except for the boss. Just wondering really.
- Heh, Oh no he ain't the head of the wiki, but he's as close as it gets (haven't been around lately but he was before I left). DragoonWraith did a lot for the wiki, and because he was also communicated with the Bethesda about various issues they promoted him to sheriff, which means he can lock and unlock pages on the wiki. He's the only one who can do that.
- The wiki is run by the community so there's no such thing as a boss, but the opinions of some members are valued more because of their actions in the past. But shouldn't this be on DragoonWraiths talk page?
- Qazaaq 19:05, 27 October 2007 (EDT)
- Leon_852 Oops! Sorry! I'm a bit frustrated at the moment thats why I put it on yours not DragoonWraith's (A little problem with one of the members that uses his page.) Well, thanks for that. If you want I'll delete it.
JOLLYRODGER
i have posted a list of his vandalisms on the community portal. Thanks for moving the question and the notification. --Tiddlydum
Quick Thanks
I didn't know about the Firefox problem with word wraps - thanks for the info. I will use blockquote from now on.

Variation on the "Spelling Qazaaq" Tutorial!
Excellent work on your "Spelling Qazaaq" tutorial! I was having a lot of trouble with that, but your acute attention to detail has made it all very clear! XD
To return the favor, I just wanted to offer up this one quick variation, which I call "Spelling Qazaaq While Eating a Ham Sandwich":
- Please note that this tutorial assumes you have some basic knowledge of spelling, typing, and making a ham sandwich. Those topics will not be covered here.
- It is difficult, but entirely possible, to spell "Qazaaq" with your left hand while eating a ham sandwich with your right. The only difficulty is in producing the capital "Q". In order to achieve this, simply place your left pinky on the LEFT SHIFT KEY. Hold down the shift key with that finger, and use your middle finger (its length makes it the best choice for this effect) to press the "Q" key. Now, simply release both keys, and continue as described in the original "Spelling Qazaaq" tutorial.
Thanks for all the great work, Qazag! XD
(Getting bleary-eyed from all the editing, had to have a little fun. I imagine you know what I'm talking about, since you've also been extremely busy!)
--RedFault 15:33, 11 January 2008 (EST)
- You've certainly returned the favor successfully, I very much enjoyed a comment about that little tutorial. I almost forgot that I put it up there. Good to hear someone has actually read the whole thing and had a good time. Unfortunately you've already spelled my name correctly. Spelling Qazaaq While Eating a Ham Sandwich has been copied to User:Qazaaq/Spelling Qazaaq While Eating a Ham Sandwich and I've added it as a See Also link under the original. I hope you've enjoyed your ham sandwich.

Silly user page
- Leon_852 Was I not allowed to do this? If not I didn't know and I didn't know that there was already a users page. I'm sorry if I caused any trouble.
- Articles that are not related to modding Oblivion are not allowed, unless they're in your own userspace. Which means on your actual userpage or on a page inside your userspace (like User:Qazaaq/Spelling Qazaaq While Eating a Ham Sandwich). If you still want to collect a list of users you copy the page to your userspace. To do that, copy the source of the original page from here and paste it here: User:Leon_852/Users.
- Don't get your hopes up though, there aren't many users on the Wiki and there are even less who would come across your page. Feel free to add my name to the list if you want to remake the page.

Wiki syntax request
Hi Qazaaq,
Thanks again for fixing the 'How to add OBSE' page. It looks much better now. Is it possible to do the same with bullets (for RemoveItem? I was also wondering if you could add a brief 'how-to' on that html code on the Wiki syntax page?
Bests, haama
- Done, I hope it's clear enough: Welcome_to_Wiki_Syntax#Interrupted_Lists. I've also fixed RemoveItem.
- --Qazaaq 18:27, 23 January 2008 (EST)
- Looks great to me. I'm going to add a note about unordered lists - they can be interrupted, too.
- Dragoon Wraith TALK 18:31, 23 January 2008 (EST)
- Thank you! Once we all stop trying to edit it at the same time it will be perfect :P--Haama 18:35, 23 January 2008 (EST)
- Yes and I'll stop getting messages every time I open a new page. :P
- --Qazaaq 18:36, 23 January 2008 (EST)
Hey Qazaaq < notice i write it correct
Well i just want you to take a look on my talk i have responed on the message i gave you here is a link Just in cause
stl.bethsoft.com
I only recently discovered this, has the Wiki always been available through this domain or is this something new? I ask this question here, anyone feel free to answer.
--Qazaaq 17:42, 19 August 2008 (EDT)
- Wow, I haven't seen that. I have no idea how long that's been available. How'd you even find it?
- I could ask Gstaff if you want.
- Dragoon Wraith TALK 23:53, 19 August 2008 (EDT)
- I found it with Google, can't remember what I was searching for. Asking GStaff would be great, I'm curious. I wonder what stl stands for.
- --Qazaaq 04:10, 20 August 2008 (EDT)
- E-mail sent.
- Btw, I've been kinda in "disappear" mode for a while as I am wont to do; if you guys need me for anything you have my e-mail address, right?
- I'm sure I'll get back into modding and TES as the mood strikes me, but lately I've just been doing other things. Want to make sure I'm not shirking any duties here though!
- Dragoon Wraith TALK 23:36, 20 August 2008 (EDT)
- No, that's alright, I've got your Gmail address. Take a break when you need it, modding can be very exhousting.
- --Qazaaq 03:22, 21 August 2008 (EDT)
- Gstaff responded: Apparently stl.bethsoft.com is for the Star Trek Legacy Wiki, that they were setting up/fixing, but it accidentally got set as a mirror for the CS wiki. Fixed now.
- Dragoon Wraith TALK 15:13, 25 August 2008 (EDT)
- That explains all. They replaced the mirror with the message "hi", I suppose you can call that fixing things. Thanks for the inquiry!
- --Qazaaq 16:39, 25 August 2008 (EDT)
The Star Wars Legacy mod Wiki is functioning now, and besides that they have a newer version than we've got here (1.10.1 instead of 1.10.0), I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that the editor was created pro bono and they even released the source code! Just thought I'd share that with everyone.
It's strange to see that they've left the Main Page unlocked. No vandalism though, last and only activity was september 9th and that was by a single user. I'm going to keep an eye on it, see how they handle things.
--Qazaaq 17:33, 1 October 2008 (EDT)
- Oh man, what I wouldn't do for some of that for us...

Mod Load Order?
If adding stuff to other peoples pages in this manner is not cricket please forgive me. It will not be a mistake I will repeat. You seem to be the right sort of person to talk to about this around here. Onto the issue. This wiki is all about ease of access am I correct? I do believe this topic is non-tangential* (actual word?). How do we change to load order of mods without 3rd party tools? Wrye Bash, OBMM, etc? --Antares 08:51, 27 August 2008 (EDT)
- This is the prefered method of communication on the Wiki. Sometimes it goes back and forth between talk pages, each person writing on the other's talk page to leave them a message. But I prefer to keep the conversation on one page. See Help:Communication.
- The loadorder is nothing more than a date order, the most recently modified plugins load last. Wrye Bash and OBMM change the "last modified" times/dates on the plugins to change the loadorder. So you can change your load order with any application that changes the "last modified" date/time on a file.
- Besides the CS there are only 3rd party tools, so if you want to change the load without them you'll have to load and save every plugin in the appropriate order. Not very convenient. Besides that, 3rd party tools are often more reliable than the CS.
- I hope that answers your question.
- --Qazaaq 17:04, 27 August 2008 (EDT)
- I think leaving things on one persons page is a better way to do things. It allows other users to view conversations more easily. That aside thank you, you gave a thoroughly excellent answer. I thought it might be possible with the CS. I have now found that the Oblivion Mod FAQ page provides excellent information. This page did not come up when I did a quick search to make sure I wasn't asking a question that had already been answered. Cheers anyway, I have edited the heading on the Oblivion Mods Page so it should now be that little bit easier to find.
- --Antares 21:48, 27 August 2008 (EDT)
- There's nothing wrong with that edit, but do know that the local search engine does not search for words under the 4 characters. Adding the word "mod" won't make a difference when using the Wiki search engine. It does help when searching the site with Google (see Help:Searching).

GMST Table Width Changes
Why not try out that bot for that?
Dragoon Wraith TALK 11:44, 28 August 2008 (EDT)
- That's a good idea, will do. The settings pages are not in a separate category, that will complicate things but it should work.
- --Qazaaq 16:44, 28 August 2008 (EDT)
Animator, eh?
Hey Qazaaq, you do animations now? I've been thinking about some animations I'd like made for a mod project I've been thinking about (related to the Randomness project)... would you be interested in perhaps collaborating? How advanced have you gotten? I figure you, of all people, know what to expect from my (lack of) work ethic and consistency, so you'd know better than others what you'd be getting yourself into if you wanted to.
Dragoon Wraith TALK 11:48, 28 August 2008 (EDT)
- After doing the finger snap animation I did some more animating and I like it. At the moment I'm working on new wing animations for the Demon race by Chingari and Ismelda. This is a big project and I'd just finished rigging the wings and making a first version of the idle animation before my motherboard stopped working. I'll be busy with this for a while.
- Considering your work ethic (you brought it up) I'm willing to take on side project. I like what you're working on now so I'm curious what you've come up with. However, my classes are starting on Monday so don't expect any speedy results.
- One last thing, I don't have a PC, do I get one at the job? Seriously, I have just this borrowed laptop, but the last parts of my new system should have been shipped today. If you let me know what you're working on I'll let you know when I've got my own PC running again.
- --Qazaaq 16:59, 28 August 2008 (EDT)
- Hey man, you know the timescales I work at (MA's celebrated its second birthday this summer, no?), so yeah, totally feel free to take it on as a side-project and work on it when you feel like it. Since you're interested, I'll e-mail you some of the ideas I have in mind.

Some simple questions?
Hey Qazaaq
I dont think you remember me but we talked about the new system here on the wiki and i want to say things went out pretty good. The portal system is nice and its easy to get around the page.
But i want to know if i'm or other users is still able to ask questions or change the pages as they like (due the terms) it was often more possibly to get answer to diffecult questions here than the forum.
--Awia00 16:14, 5 October 2008 (EDT)
- I'm not sure if I explained this last time, forgive me if I repeat myself. The reason new questions are no longer allowed is because the number of active editors on the Wiki has decreased dramatically (although it's beginning to increase again). The available people don't have the time or the knowledge to answer all the questions and unanswered questions will pollute searches and the questions category. Making it harder for other people to find information.
- It's probably true that you could get a better answer to complicated question here in the past, but that's no longer the case. Although we're trying to answer the questions we do get and most scripting related question are answered.
- Feel free to continue existing questions (if others don't disagree), but don't get your hopes up. Questions about specific articles are also allowed, on the articles talk page). These help to improve the articles.
- If you really can't get a question answered you could try one of the IRC channels listed on Help:Communication.
- I'm glad you're like the new system, I'm happy with how it turned out. Good luck with your new project!
- --Qazaaq 17:18, 5 October 2008 (EDT)
- IMO (and we should talk about this if it's getting asked; I recommend an addition to the Community Portal about this), questions should either be on Talk pages, if they apply specifically to an article, or else on the Forums, or perhaps your own User Talk page if you would prefer. Any random questions in the (Main) namespace are a bad thing, I think. Otherwise, and especially for specific questions about your mod (trouble-shooting, script-writing, etc) should probably be on the Forums - they'll get answered more quickly and usually better.
- The existing questions really should be gone through, checked for anything meaningful, written up better, and removed, I think.

RE: changes to IsQuestItem
Yes, I am positive these changes are correct. Here, just take a look at this file. It is working in this file and has been used in a practical way. you don't need to follow all the directions in the readme. those are for someone else saying that using label and goto doesn't keep the script from exploding.
1. just drop down the console and punch in "startquest D2kbookquest" 2. when the dialogue pops up, click "gimme the spell" 3. go to your spell list and cast the spell. 4. choose remove quest items.
everything should work fine.
--D2k204 16:46, 16 October 2009 (EDT)
Ok, I have taken a break and just got back. I reviewed everything from the changes on the page and what they were before. I think the problem in general is that when I am looking for examples of functionality (as anyone would) I copy what I see on the page, usually the example. Regardless if I am testing a refrence ID or an object ID. I have not seen anything anywhere on the cs wiki that differentiate the usage of functions utilizing refrence IDs or object IDs.
