Deletion of the Crash Prevention Page[edit source]

Hi.

Unfortunately, I've reverted your removal of the contents from the Crash Prevention page. The reason for this is simple: it is not your page to do with as you please, despite your having written it. Submission of any material to this Wiki releases it to the Oblivion modding community, which is not something you can just take back. As it says in the note above every Summary box on every Edit page, see Project:Copyrights for details (actually, the details in question are in Project:Standards and Policies, which is linked to from the Copyrights page; see #5).

I have not determined that removing the content from the page is not the correct step - it may very well be. Outdated information is harmful and the Wiki is not opposed to linking to any and all helpful sites. We're extremely low on man-power and our ability to update anything is approaching nil. Therefore, I fully consider my reversion an interim situation while we determine what we want to do with the page. But for the time being, it's staying as it was. I will have to review the article as well as the material on your site, and determine what situation I think is best for the Oblivion modding community - and hopefully, I'll find others to do the same so that something resembling a consensus can be gotten, as I am hardly qualified to make any decision "on the behalf of the Oblivion modding community" alone. Should it be impossible to find any kind of consensus on the topic (as in, if you and I are the only people with an interest in it), I will almost certainly re-revert the page back to the version you had put up today.

At any rate, this is a head's up about what's going on. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to comment here or on my Talk page.

Sorry about that. Like I wrote on the page, I thought that deleting the info would be the easiest way of preventing confusion. However, if you believe that isn't the correct way to handle this situation, I will stand behind it.
I only have one problem with the edit reversal. The problem is that you reverted to the last edit made by Dev Akm. After Dev Akm finished editing the page, I made a large number of edits to correct some of the info on that page. If you check the history page, you will see that all my edits, except my most recent one, were made the day after Dev Akm started the page and nearly a year ago. As a result, you also reverted some very important changes I made to the page.
The correct procedure would be to undo only my most recent edit. I would make the changes myself except I can't figure out how to undo edits and the only ways I can think of to get my edits back would probably cause more harm than good. JdeRau 02:40, 20 March 2010 (EDT)

Sorry, you're correct - I forgot the rollback feature gets rid of all of your edits since the last other person to edit it. It's supposed to be an anti-vandalism tool, not for normal article handling.

Thanks for fixing the issue with the version reverted to, I appreciate that.
That's a good question though. I'll try to read through the article more thoroughly this weekend as well.
