Category talk:Oblivion Script Extender
This page is for discussing any issues that arise from using OBSE. For requesting new functions, please see the OBSE Wish List.
Version Logs?[edit source]
Hmm, OBSE categry discussion redirects to the wish list - intentional? Anyway, the following comment was meant to be in the OBSE category talk: Should we maintain a version log for OBSE?--GhanBuriGhan 11:36, 2 August 2006 (EDT)
- Dragoon Wraith TALK 12:01, 2 August 2006 (EDT): I've changed the redirect, that was automatically created by Moving the Wish List over there.
- Anyway... sounds like a good idea, yeah, we should. It should be a separate article in the Oblivion Script Extender category.
- !?!? When did this get released? How much can it do? What can it do? This should be a category, so we can have all its functions as articles part of this category, I think. The Imperial Dragon 02:24, 4 August 2006 (EDT)
- Dragoon Wraith TALK 12:33, 4 August 2006 (EDT): What exactly do you think this is? OBSE has it's own category, and several subcategories.
- ??? What? It was a already a category? Weird, I could have sworn... nevermind then. The Imperial Dragon 00:57, 10 August 2006 (EDT)
Side Effects[edit source]
Are there any side-effects to installing OBSE? Can it slow down game performance? The Imperial Dragon 12:42, 20 August 2006 (EDT)
- Ianpatt 01:52, 21 August 2006 (EDT): It should have no effect on game performance. Mods using it may cause performance issues, just as with any normal mod.
- Ah, alright, thanks. Thanks for making this too, it allows a lot more freedom while scripting. :) The Imperial Dragon 20:26, 21 August 2006 (EDT)
Is it allowed to modify this[edit source]
Hello ,
would I be allowed to modify the included source if I kept all credits and released the new source. I am an enthousiast about Mtes4 and I currently trying to find new ways ( new network concepts) I had like to make an a bit own version of Mtes4 (not based on the original) that tries to sync the thing a bit more ( like items , etc)
For this task I'd like to modify the OBSE 008 source in a way that it directly transmits the things it finds to the host.
- Dragoon Wraith TALK 04:41, 14 September 2006 (EDT): Currently, any work done to OBSE has been submitted to the OBSE team. This is mostly because Timeslip is the only one who has created anything, so he just gave it to Ian and Steven. I don't think it has been released as open source, so I imagine releasing custom versions is not expected... but I'm not on the team. I'd suggest e-mailing Ian about it.

Theme[edit source]
Sorry if this is off-topic, but I was wondering where I could download the windows theme in the screenshot. Does the title bar writing come with the theme or do I have to download it as well, if so where? Thanks very much.
- That was actually one I made personally, though based on Alienware's Xenomorph theme. I have, unfortunately, lost most of the files, and couldn't redistribute them as they are mostly Alienware's in any case.

Link[edit source]
so is this something i could easily find on the website, because apperently the link is broken BugUsNot 19:20, 25 August 2009 (EDT)
- A. BugMeNot accounts are not allowed here. That account will be blocked, and I'm taking this opportunity to check the site for any more. There are thousands of reasons why sites require you to register - if you don't like it, then you can not use the site.
- B. The links are all fine, as far as I can tell. The link to the ESF thread was out of date, so I updated it, but the link was hardly broken.
