Talk:Console Commands

From the Oblivion ConstructionSet Wiki

Just a reference note on the terminology: usually, the term "function" is reserved for scripts & scripting languages ... but when you call a function from a command-line interface, it is called a "command". (As a comparison, issuing commands from many a command-line interfaces (e.g. Unix, DOS, IOS...) is essentially just calling functions from a programming language script.) --Laisren 20:58, 24 March 2008 (EDT)

Purpose?[edit source]

I'm not quite understanding the point of this list... practically all functions in vanilla Oblivion script can be called from the console, so why relist them here? --Speedo 00:44, 25 March 2008 (EDT)

As it is, this page doesn't add any information. There is some need for a brief overview on using the console, but I'm not sure where it would fit on the wiki (maybe Basics? Debugging?). I think that's the main thing, this just doesn't fit anywhere as of now (not that Category:Console Functions is much better). --Haama 02:57, 25 March 2008 (EDT)
