Is the "asking for credit" bit to be taken for a byline ?
shadeMe TALK 16:53, 20 July 2009 (EDT)

It means that if you need help with this script you can contact me

Skingrad, please sign your comments with ~~~~. I did it for you this time.
Shademe is correct. Asking for credit implies ownership, and if you put something on the Wiki you release it to public. If you insist of listing yourself as available for help you can do so in a note on the talk page. If this is unacceptable you should post the script elsewhere. Both Nexus sites have an articles section for example.
I'll leave it up to you, Skingrad, to remove the credit line from the script. The same counts for the script you posted on the GECK Wiki.

For the sake of fairness, I think we should perhaps explain: On the Wiki, we want people to edit and contribute and improve everything. "Bylines", or even just having someone's name attached to an article identifying them as a main contributor to the article itself (as opposed to, say, a credit as a source of the original information, like referencing performance tests and thanking the tester or something like that), implies to a lot of people that the specific article is "locked" or "owned" and that they should not edit it. Since this is something that we never want, we have to ask contributors to release their submissions and therefore do not include their own name in the article - the page's History section should provide plenty of explanation of authorship if anyone takes an interest. We do apologize for any inconvenience, but this is a very important rule at the Wiki.
Thanks.

"Since this is something that we never want, we have to ask contributors to release their submissions and therefore do not include their own name in the article" does this also mean that contributors can't ask for credit on other pages too for articles they made themselves? Doesn't work, missing "cos" command[edit source]

This script doesn't work, because when I try to save, it tells me that there's no "cos" command. - ZuTheSkunk 18:21, 1 February 2011 (EST)

The cos command is added by OBSE. You'd have to use that.
You could get around that requirement using the trigonometry "stage functions", but those are very difficult and awkward to use, and are considerably less efficient than using OBSE. OBSE is very strongly recommended for Oblivion scripting.
