Mod Loading Question

'Scuse me.. Got directed to this thread after asking one appearantly very unique question. So.. In most cases this is solved by either matching version of oblivion with version of CS, or cleaning up the mod? And to see what version of oblivion i have, i check the bottom left corner while the map/opening video is playing. Sweet. Now, i just have two more questions; How do i know what version of cs I have, and in case both programs are the latest versions, what exactly does 'cleaning a mod' involve? I'll be eternally thankful and send yearly christmas cards to anyone who answers these questions. If it turns out they were answered somewhere and I somehow missed that part, i will videotape my elaborate 'i'm sorry'-act and upload it on youtube.

Who directed you to that page? Long story short... they should not have. That page should be deleted, possibly after having the relevant information on it added to the rest of the Wiki. It's a very old page. A long time ago, the Wiki decided to restrict specific modding questions, especially troubleshooting, to the Forums - it clutters the Wiki less, and you are more likely to get a better answer sooner.

Anyway, you can check your version of the CS with Help -> About. Top center, you'll see "The Elder Scrolls Construction Set [RETURN] v1.2.404" (if it is the latest version; otherwise it'll be v1.0.something, IIRC). But using the old version of the CS with the latest version of Oblivion should work; Oblivion is backwards-compatible. It's only using a later version of the CS with an older version of Oblivion that should cause problems.

As for cleaning, you can try the Mod Cleaning Tutorial, that should (hopefully) help.

Unfortunately, that's about as good an answer as I can provide; I don't really know a lot about this stuff. And even more unfortunately... there's a very high chance that I'll be the only one who sees this question (or, one of two or three, most likely), so if you need more help, you really are better off on the Forums.
