explaining a few thingsEdit

Welcome to the Wiki, there are a few things you should know before you continue. First of all, user talk pages are used to contact users, the way I'm leaving this message right now. Feel free to put other things on your talk page as long as other users can still contact you. Generally the user page or a sub page is the place for personal content.

Furthermore, the Wiki is not an image hosting service, pictures of personal mods should not be hosted on the Wiki. See Standards and Policies (first rule) for more information. I marked the pictures for deletion, feel free to host the pictures elsewhere and link to them from your user page. If you're looking for a place to list your mods perhaps you should give Google Pages a try.

And last but not least; I saw you were answering questions, which is fine, but are you aware that the questions are in the process of being integrated or deleted? Making new questions is no longer allowed on the Wiki, the remaining questions are integrated or deleted. Adding extra information is great and never harmful, but adding information to something that's going to be deleted is pointless. Only questions with unique information are integrated, all other questions will be deleted. It's great that you're trying to help, I just don't want to see you waste your time.

If you have any questions feel free to respond to me, just make sure you indent once with a : in front of each paragraph.

If you would like to help people, I strongly recommend the ESF CS Forum. There are always a lot of questions there; that's also where we direct people who want to post questions here.

Response back and ExcuseEdit

I dont know if i should srite here or any place else?

i am sorry that i placed pictures on your server and apologies that i haven't red the rulses before i started using this site. about the help i did: i read under news after that you were going to delete it, its fine that youre going to delete it, but i think its a shame. I have loved to have these questions and have used them as a inspiration to my mods. They have make your mod ( if you are new ) a lot better because a lot of those questions are filled with ideas and common bugs.

If you delete these then we will loose a LARGE amount of info that could help people. One extra thing i think a lot of neewbies thinks that the Forum is very difficult to maneuver around on comparred to Oblivion wiki (hehe thats just positive for you)

But what can i do for the site after you delete the sections? I can read tutorials but i cant see what we "users" can do now?

Well hope you think about it, and thanks for a Fantastic site! :D Agian sorry for the image thing :(

Writing here is fine, sometimes on Wiki the answer is written on the user page of the person you're responding to, but I always thought it makes much more sense to keep the conversation on one page. Usually you put your reaction directly under the person you're responding to and you indent once more than the person you're responding to. Like DragoonWraith indented once when he responded to me, and I now indent once when responding to you. If you're going to respond to me you indent twice, by putting :: in front of every paragraph, and you place your response under mine.
Of course we're not going to delete questions that have information that's not already available on the Wiki. Unless it's very specific and the chance that someone will use it again is almost non-existent. There are a whole lot of questions that contain redirects to Wiki pages or dated information. Answered questions with information that's not available yet are tagged and will hopefully become (part of) a Wiki page, before that they're not deleted.
The most helpful thing users can do now is apply article tags and add search terms. If you think the forums are difficult to navigate I'd recommend to spend some time on them. It's not a place to search for information, that's true, but asking questions, answering questions and participating in discussion is probably harder on the Wiki. It's not the place you learn how to mod, but if you're looking for inspiration I'd recommend to search for REQZ in thread titles in the Mods Forums. REQ stands for request, the z is added to make it a four letter word that can be searched for (3 letter words are ignored, like on the Wiki).

Okay. will there be any change that people still could help each orther or will it be you people who make it all?
--Awia00 07:52, 19 March 2008 (EDT)
Anyone can write on the Wiki, but we're going to keep it focused on articles rather than discussions. The main reason for this is that the Questions pop up in search results, and that clogs searches with things that don't really have great answers. It is much better to have actual articles appear in the search results. Therefore, we're going to convert all helpful questions and answers into articles. If you found any particularly useful, you should use the Article Tags to let us know! Or you could convert it into an article yourself, if you would like. We welcome input from anyone, so long as they don't mind that they'll be edited too.
But specific questions for a specific mod should be on the Forums. Bethesda wants it this way, and so do most of the people who use the Wiki. We had a discussion about this quite a while ago; it's just taken this long to get through everything - we still have a lot to go.
