Vote on My Forum Avatar![edit source]

So, I've created a new Avatar for myself for the ESF. I've been using my old one for years - there are definitely some who associate me with it, and might be bothered by me changing.

On the other hand, it's out of date - I have little interest in either of the things (Lord of the Rings and Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis) depicted in it (though I still greatly enjoy both, I do little actively with either). Plus I like the way my new one looks. So it's a vote, on what people think. So, vote.

Just click [Edit] to the right of the header here, and type "~~~~: I vote for the [old/new] one!"+comments.

The choices:

Old Avatar
New Avatar
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v238/DragoonWraith/DragoonWraith.gif
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v238/DragoonWraith/DWavatar.png

Please state what browser you're using - the new one won't display with transparencies on IE. That's because IE is more than six years out of date, get a new browser! Sorry, the web developer in me got out there a little. Also, realize that on the ESF, the old avatar gets squished because it's 100x92 and ESF limits things to 90x90.

I use firefox. I like the old one better personally, but if you won't use it, I can probably find a few uses for it!! :P The Imperial Dragon 14:57, 16 September 2006 (EDT)
Dragoon Wraith TALK 14:59, 16 September 2006 (EDT): Hmm... The consensus seems to be the old one. OK, that's fine. Heh, I'll use it then. I'm going to keep this poll up here in case popular opinion shifts.

Are you sure this is the right place for this though? The Imperial Dragon 18:35, 16 September 2006 (EDT)

Dragoon Wraith TALK 23:24, 16 September 2006 (EDT): Well, it's my personal page, so I don't see why not. Better than wasting space on the forums with a thread that definitely doesn't belong there (or, rather, only belongs in community discussion, where I don't know people and the people who know me don't go much). So here seemed better. *shrug*

GuidoBot 15:26, 12 October 2006 (EDT) I vote for the old one!

TheDragonReborn 20:16, 12 October 2006 (CST) Yes definantly the old one.

Question about scripting[edit source]

Thanks for writing those MoveMouse commands in the wiki! Those commands will help me creating new combat moves a lot! I have a question though. Since I'm quite new with scripting / the CS, I wonder how you create an invisible activator that casts a spell in the same direction as the player is facing. Should I create an activator in the CS wihtout a mesh or is there a template transparant mesh? Should I then just use the MoveTo command to move the activator to the player and then activator.Cast spellID? I want the activator to cast a lightning bolt in the direction the player is facing, without the player being hit by it. It would be great if I could get this straight. --Mandrill 06:02, 14 August 2006 (EDT)

*Cough* Didn't think it was this hard! I greately appriciate your help but unfortunately I don't have "a strong understanding of sinusoidal functions", since I'm only 16. I know the idea, and I would probably figure it out, but only after a VERY long time. Do you know any other mod that does roughly the same thing (activator cast a spell on another activator at the player's crosshair)? It would be great with a modder's resource in means of maybe a text file with a template script or something. So, if I understand this right, the second activator needs to be disabled so that the spell just goes through it and doesn't hit the activator? And regarding the use of a global script... The problem with those is that they are runned only like once per five seconds, a local script would run instantly when I equip a ring or something. --Mandrill 12:58, 14 August 2006 (EDT)
Thanks for the reply. This looks like it's so tough it could become a high-school project maybe. I also thank you for getting me straight with global scripts and fQuestDelayTime, I think i got it now. --Mandrill 16:02, 14 August 2006 (EDT)
It's no problem, I'll figure it out my self with some time. We had 2 lessons of trigonometry first year in high school, and that's all my experience, but I think I can get it. --Mandrill 04:28, 15 August 2006 (EDT)

That Picture on the Bottom of my Page[edit source]

That signature/picture of yours is quite good, you should put yourself into some sort of Users:Artists section if you created it :) --MaXiMiUS 02:04, 25 June 2006 (EDT)

Dragoon Wraith TALK 10:53, 26 June 2006 (EDT): Heh, thank you. But that has little to do with Elder Scrolls modding - my skills in Photoshop don't translate into texturing very well (though I've done a few good things), so I don't consider myself a texturer. Or an artist, for that matter - I'm technically skilled (know how to get Photoshop to do what I want it to do), but inspiration hits me rarely, and I'm really bad with colors.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v238/DragoonWraith/SignDragoonWraith.png

Daaaang... Nice. The only thing I'd suggest for that is changing the green to a more pale-grey-purple colour, or maybe crimson, but it still looks awesome. The Imperial Dragon 22:39, 13 September 2006 (EDT)

Dragoon Wraith TALK 00:41, 14 September 2006 (EDT): Green? I see bluish-silver...

scripting Q's[edit source]

In my new cell, any summoned creatures do not appear, magicka is lost, the spell timer appears, but the creature is nowhere to be SEEN. i'm guessing there's a problem with the Z value. my dungeon's building blocks all have the Z set to 0. I just thought it would make sense. IS that the problem?

also, whenever i summon a creature (a conjuration spell that i have CREATED, eg. summon timber wolf, which isn't availble in Vanilla) it does not follow me in to or out of my new dungeon.

any suggestions or solutions with my two problems would be greatly appreciated!

also, how would a create a spell which would allow me to summon multiple NPC's or Creatures at once.

thanks, Luis

Can you look over my talk page and look at the scripting articles there that i wrote to check them over for errors please. I am unsure on some aspects of the scripts and need someone a second set of eyes to look over them for possible incompleteness as well as balance issues.

Game Settings[edit source]

Haama 17:46, 29 June 2007 (EDT):Umm... thanks, but before you continue, could you mark which ones don't have a description yet. I know no one went through and really worked on it, but it was at least possible to tell which one's still needed a description (and default's pretty easy to tell).

Dragoon Wraith TALK 21:42, 29 June 2007 (EDT): Yeah, that's actually why I stopped, because that dawned on me. I did them in alphabetical order, so from fAbsorbBoltGrowthWidth through fAICombatUnreachableTargetPriorityMult, with the exceptions of fActorStrengthEncumberanceMult through fActorSwimBreathMult, which had already been done. How would you like me to mark them? I'm not really sure how best to do that.
Haama 23:30, 29 June 2007 (EDT): Is there a way to do color codings? Yes? - no, tag of "Font color" doesn't work.
Dragoon Wraith TALK 23:43, 29 June 2007 (EDT): Ah, yes, I can do that. Red a good color?
By the way, you need to use the <span> tag. MediaWiki is apparently enforcing HTML 4.01 compliance.

Game Settings up through fArmorRatingConditionBase have been added and/or checked for accuracy. Descriptions could still be wrong for all I know, but the settings are correct.

Linking to your fancy ?filtered? function categories[edit source]

Ok, now they kind-of seem to be working (5 edits later), they're counted as external links, which is weird, but at least they work.--Haama 15:48, 5 July 2007 (EDT)

Huh? What are you talking about? You should be able to link to them the same as any other category:
Dragoon Wraith TALK 15:47, 5 July 2007 (EDT)
But not if you're using the rest of the web address... nevermind, that was my mistake. I think I typed in something wrong, and assumed they were being treated differently.--Haama 15:48, 5 July 2007 (EDT)
Aha, yeah, there's no need to use the entire URL.

Question[edit source]

A fair number of tutorial pages added today were all signed. Wanted to know how you wanted to handle it. Should the name attributions just be moved to the Talk pages and a note left with the person or did you want to ask him to do it? Additionally, I removed some signatures on a few new pages for game settings and left a note for that individual that he didn't need to sign those pages and that signatures are generally used only for discussions or questions.

--ShadowDancer 23:36, 27 July 2007 (EDT)

That sounds fine. I'll talk to LHammonds.
Dragoon Wraith TALK 11:27, 28 July 2007 (EDT)

I started a new Article for the Oblivion Shader Editor. I was hoping you could take a look at the article. It is a program Timeslip written a long time ago back in September of 06. I can not find a good description on how it function and the official thread that is linked to it is long winded and hardly anything about it but about something totally different so i cannot acquire a good description about it. I flagged it unfinished and flagged it needing updating since I just thrown together some basic information about it and thrown in some other things that follow suit to what it does.

Regarding Bylines and Mod Deisolation[edit source]

I just read the whole discussion regarding bylines. I have removed the bylines from all of my articles, in the spirit of building a good wiki. Thought you would like to know.

On a different note, I saw your comment about wanting to remove the warning from the door markers tutorial. (which, BTW is bylined, which is why my articles were bylined in the first place, I mistankenly thought it was common practice because the article I was editing was bylined...). Anyways, I do not agree that it is common knowledge to every new person reading thier first basic door linking tutorial that you cannot crosslink mods. Mod isolation rather kicked my arse for about three days after I read the aforementioned door linking article, got excited, applied it to all my downloaded house mods, got frustrated when my attempts at new mods did nothing but cause errors, then found about mod isolation in the FAQ section when I started to search all the help articles i could find to see what i was doing was wrong and saw others that were also having the same problem. Being the type to warn others about things which have kicked my arse and will probably kick thiers too, I added the warning. Also, I didnt even know about the deisolation tutorial, or that it applied to my warning, until today when I saw everyone ranting about it being edited then reverted in the bylining discussion. I rather think that my placement of the warning is strategic to "noobies" like myself who wouldnt know otherwise, but not cumbersome to those who do.

I changed the title and significantly re-wrote the article to make it blend in better with the door linking tutorial, reducing the byline effect of the original warning article even more, in the spirit of being a good wick to the wiki. I would appreciate it if you would leave the warning in, in at least some form, so others wouldnt have the same problems I did.

The deisolation techniques discussed in the deisloation tutorial were, by the way, quite beyond the average beginning modder (me included) so I kept the link to the .esp crosslinking solutions article I wrote, as I believe it is quite an effective, possibly original technique. I'm debating on whether it would be a good idea to include my "jigsaw puzzle" technique as an edit in the mod deisloation article or not, along with a discussion on merging mods using the new construction set. It is, after all, clearly marked as an incomplete article. I just dont want to piss off a couple of guys who are already fighting over edits in that article. Any suggestions?

External Links[edit source]

Got a question about external links. If it is a small plug-in to something, like the script that used to be linked from the Loading Screens tutorial for Paint Shop Pro, is it possible to upload the files to the wiki? I am asking because the plug-in that was made for Paint Shop Pro is no longer available at the original link, and I am not sure where to even find it at this point (I am going to keep looking though). As time goes on, these external links to some websites are disappearing at a good clip (and messing up the tutorials that rely on them) and some of these files are extremely useful if you don't want to re-invent the wheel, so to speak, or for those who are less knowledgable about the programs being used.

--ShadowDancer 19:57, 11 August 2007 (EDT)

I agree, but I simply don't know. Feel free to experiment with the Upload File thing if you want.
Dragoon Wraith TALK 01:40, 12 August 2007 (EDT)
Well, it looks like there is a 2MB or so cap on any uploaded files from what I can tell. On top of that, the only allowed file types are png, gif, jpg, and jpeg so uploading files for download isn't going to work. Looks like the only way would be to see if we could get space someplace for file uploads/downloads and then put any important files there. Of course, we would also need to locate those files in the first place. At least the corporate websites are staying up and keeping their free tools available so we don't have a problem there. The only other option I can think of is to increase the wiki's scope to deal with things like the script for Paint Shop Pro that was written for making Load Screens.
--ShadowDancer 02:45, 12 August 2007 (EDT)
I'll ask Gstaff, but I don't have much hope on this one.

Bit of an over-zealous edit[edit source]

Have you seen this?
I don't believe IPhill has the power to block IPs, but even the threat is harmful.
I looked into it - Winston1 only made one edit (you have to go back from the redirect and check the history of Easy), it could simply have been a mistake, and it was 6 months ago. WTF?!?
--Haama 12:56, 26 September 2007 (EDT)

If you ask me IPhill is the vandal not Winston1... and he should be marked as such.

Deleted Article[edit source]

Leon_852 I just wanted to check something with you DragoonWraith. One of my questions "How do I bring up the Inventory Screen" has been deleted. I just wanted to know, has it been marked for deletion because I didn't get any warning.

Navigation Suggestion[edit source]

I had originally posted this in the Community Portal, but Qazaaq suggested I mention it here. It would be a bit easier to navigate the wiki if you added a "Categories" link to the main ToC on the Main Page.
RedFault 15:52, 8 January 2008 (EST)

Hmm... Yeah, I will look into that. I'm not sure how useful that will be (there are a lot of categories that aren't too useful), but if it looks good I'll add it.
Thanks for the suggestion!

IRC Client for the Wiki![edit source]

odd.bod Thank you very much DragoonWraith for your reply on the Main Page's talk page. I've changed my mind. My channel is not very good and has only been going for two weeks, but someone else has asked me to put their channel forward. It is called #esmod. You need to be able to connect to the server then the client. The server is irc.chatspike.net. The admin of it is called Dcoy. He seemed rather exited about this when I told him yesterday so I hope you consider it. This would be a great oppertunity for the site. A person good at linking two different things would have to do it though because I don't know how to. If you would like, I could create a link in the tools section so that people can get the program mIRC so that they would be able to connect to the channel. I hope you consider it. Please reply via my talk page.
odd.bod Erm, well I don't know where it would go. People keep saying the tools section but I don't think so. The Client is a chatroom for anyone who does not know. Erm... I think links. I don't know if that will work, but it's worth a try!
mIRC is the most powerful IRC thing people would want to get. I'm just wondering, is it you that sorts out the links there? If not, then I'd be happy to create the Category in there and then create the link to mIRC's page (where you will download it.) If neccasary, I will write up some instructions as to how to connect to the server and join the channel, although mIRC has already done this.odd.bod
odd.bod Ok, I'll sort that out soon. I'll have to take a look at some of the other links to see how they work. Thanks!
It won't let me create the link because of the hyperlink. When I try to save it it says somethng about because I have included an external hyperlink, to avoid spamming I need to type the words in the box below but there isn't one below.
What's going on? odd.bod
It's all done now. I tried on another PC and it's worked!

Guidobot's articles[edit source]

From this discussion, I don't think Guidobot wants his articles to be rewritten. Maybe it would be best to move the articles to his user space and start afresh.--Haama 10:37, 20 January 2008 (EST)

I'm confused - he seems happy to have his article worked on in that link. I do seem to remember Guido being somewhat possessive of those articles, perhaps we should try to contact him.
Dragoon Wraith TALK 14:40, 20 January 2008 (EST)
Maybe it was something I got from other conversations - it seemed to me more like he was happy to take them into consideration, rather than let/have me make the edits. Well, no good way to go about this, so I'll PM him on the BF (he was last on in early January, so he'll probably respond sooner than later).--Haama 20:09, 20 January 2008 (EST)

Questions on the Wiki[edit source]

I see. I saw some other questions posted on the Wiki and also the Questions and Answers categories, so I figured it would be ok. Regarding the image for deletion, I wasn't "hosting" the image here, I just thought it would add some color to my profile. I have my own website if I wanted to host images (and I do).

Machinima[edit source]

not sure if theres a mail section on this site. but yeah, i have been tooling around with the CS. i'm getting the basics, and i do mean BASICS. i have read a lot of tutorials, i wouldn't mind eventually making a quest. but i really need to focus on what you said. Scripting and event type codes. i found morrowind much easier to mod, especially the interior/exterior differentiation. the ability to distinguish what is where without necessarily having to refer to grid numbers. i am plugging away several hours a day at learning this newer CS. but if anyone want to help with a machinima project, i've got a great writer, and i can trade work for audio-post production and even custom sound tracks to any mods anyone creates. --Marcus.sawyer 09:05, 14 May 2008 (EDT)

Indenting codeboxes[edit source]

You can indent codeboxes with the HTML tags dl and dd. One dl tag at the start, then one dd tag for every indent (don't close them), and one /dl at the end to close the indented area. I'll make an example of the code on Talk:GetRace.
--Qazaaq 18:10, 31 August 2008 (EDT)

Dragoon Wraith TALK 00:41, 1 September 2008 (EDT)
I knew I had read this in the past (and even used it). Yesterday I needed it again and had a hard time finding it here (and could not find the page where I used it). So I am adding it to the Codebox section of the Help: Wiki Editing Syntax Guide. Adjusted it a little bit, as it seems an extra <dl> is needed for every indent.
And I think the User Functions sections I added to the bottom of this page should be removed since the discussion moved to a proper place. As the text is mine and Qazaaq's and the page is yours, I don't know what the etiquette says about who should remove it. If you agree that the text has no use for future readers, please remove it (this paragraph included)

The "esstyle" skin[edit source]

Could you please give me the source code from the file "esstyle.php" in the "skins" folder of this wiki? DragoonWraith? I would like to use it in my own Elder Scrolls wiki, V.F.D. Wiki. Dagoth Ur, Mad God 05:19, 19 September 2008 (EDT)

I seem to have lost the original style scripting for the wiki. Do you know any way that I can get it back? Right now, the main part of the page that all of the articles show up in is pushed to the left and is partially hidden under the Navigation boxes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
--ShadowDancer 23:40, 11 October 2008 (EDT)
I just went through all of the preferences. Nothing there helped at all. I am using the same old IE that I have been using since I first signed on. I did try the Liquid style sheet and changed the items that were originally on the style sheet in my profile, but it didn't work well with my non-widescreen monitor so I removed it (hence the blank style sheet in my profile). I am thinking this is where the issue cropped up as its doing the same thing on my widescreen monitor.
--ShadowDancer 01:02, 12 October 2008 (EDT)
I realize its a horrible browser, but I really don't like any of the other browsers any better. At least it isn't IE 7 which is even worse. I guess I will go back to the liquid design style so that the pages show up on at least one of my computers without the overlapping issue.

Bad Header on Tag?[edit source]

The header on that tag-thing when something's hard to find and needs to be more prominent reads:

This article is more difficult to find than it should be. Please use the Talk page to
discuss how to make this information more prominent.

See Find Text for an example.

Surely the header is wrong, seeing that the information is actually there, just not overly visible? Well, that's what I thought, at least. It just confused me, is all - I'm not trying to kick up a fuss! :O

House Making Tutorials[edit source]

There seems to be numerous house-making tutorials, all of which seem to be incomplete. The list of tutorials I've found are:

How to make a house

Creating a House

Both of these were added a long time ago, and show no signs of being added to - I'd suggest scrapping both of them (They have such a high cross-over anyhow that one should go in any case) and then getting someone else to create a completely new, more intuitive tutorial with much more depth, which I'd be up for to fill some time! ;)

Since creating a house is one of the first things that people want to do, I guess making it as easy to follow as possible would make sense (and neither of those I've found do at all).

Having said this, there might be a badly named tutorial by someone on the topic. I've been looking, but you seem to be guru on all things wiki! I'll look like a dick if there is now. :(

Sorry for the lengthy message. And the numerous other ones before it! I'm still getting to grips.

--Gregbert 13:20, 28 April 2009 (EDT).

Our default "first thing people should do" tutorial is A Beginner's Guide, which is pretty solid. Still, a basic house-making tutorial is something we should have. If you are interested, definitely go for it. Feel free to use one of the existing article titles, and add {{afd}} on the second so it'll be deleted. If you're going to use content from both, let me talk to Gstaff about merging the two articles, so that we can keep proper History credits in there.

"Till then Happy Modding. Tom Dawson." This doesn't have a Byline tag? Someone, somewhere was talking about some new Byline rules, though, that only effct the most recently added bylines, so we can ignore the old ones? Clarification would be cool.
  • Also, I've added some stuff on the Talk:Creating a House. Sorry to seem pushy by linking it here, just mentioning it while I'm talking to you!
Cheers! Gregbert 04:53, 3 May 2009 (EDT).
Yes, those pages are grandfathered in with bylines. They should have the tag, though, so I'll do that.
And I'll check the house thing out, sure thing.

Function Template Progress[edit source]

I was wondering how far the template for functions has progressed. Can a port to the CS wiki be made any time soon ?

PS : I also see that you've removed the link to your talk page in your signature ...

shadeMe TALK 18:41, 28 April 2009 (EDT)

No, that's just because if you link to a page from that page, the link doesn't work, it just gets bolded instead. So that's why the TALK section of my signature is just bolded and not a link. My signature on any other page will still link here.
Anyway, I don't know. I think it's pretty solid on the GECK Wiki. If you want to double-check, best bet is to probably leave a note on the GECK Wiki about it.
Dragoon Wraith TALK 19:33, 28 April 2009 (EDT)
I see ... I'll have a look at the GECK wiki. On another note, can the CSBot be made to create pages for the un-added OBSE functions ( v15 and upwards ) with the template, when ported ?
shadeMe TALK 20:11, 28 April 2009 (EDT)
I intend to try... Certainly not without some very interesting coding on my part. We'll see if I can pull it off. Unfortunately, Python's not my best language and PyWikipedia's documentation is spotty at best...
Dragoon Wraith TALK 22:04, 28 April 2009 (EDT)

OK, guess I'll make the note[edit source]

BlazeRus removed 'is bylines.

Menu XML & changing active enchanments[edit source]

Thanks for the positive feedback. As far as a full article goes, I assume you meant about the menu xml stuff. I was thinking about posting an article, but I need to do some rigorous testing to clarify what each element and trait do. When I have some time, I'll put together a reference article - if you (or anyone else) wants to beat me to the punch though, I wouldn't complain.

As for modifying active spells etc: I was experimenting with spells that add effects to the enchantment on the player's weapon. I found that adding effects worked fine. When the spell ran down and tried to remove effects from the enchantment, and those effects were still active on an actor I'd attacked, the game would CTD. From your input, the work of the good folks at OBSE, and my own experience, I'd infer that each active effect on an actor has a reference to the magic item (enchantment/spell/etc) that applied it and the index of the effect in said item. If you remove effects from the item, the indexes stored by the actors become invalid - and possibly out of bounds, which would cause a crash when the game tried to use them. You didn't have crashes (I'm guessing now) because you changed magnitudes, but the number of effects remained constant. Of course I could be way off - correct me if so. In any case, thanks for the additional info.

Reccuring If Statement[edit source]

You said you could help with scripting problems? :P

I've got a small problem with an If statement running 4 times, when as far as I can see, it should (and I want it to) only run once. The script is:

SCN TestMidnightActivator

Short CurrentDay

Begin GameMode

    If CurrentDay < GameDaysPassed && TestGlobal > 0
        Set CurrentDay to GameDaysPassed
        Set TestGlobal to ( TestGlobal + 5 )
        MessageBox "Test working"
    Endif

End

Someone on the Forum thread said I should change the Short CurrentDay to a Float, seeing that GameDaysPassed acts as a Float too; but this had no effect as I can see. I basicly need the script to add 5 or whatever to the global at the start of a new day. Nothing else I've tried seems to work, including GetCurrentTime and GameHour. Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

--Gregbert 07:12, 4 July 2009 (EDT).
Oh, whoops. I'd just put 4 of the objects the script was attached to in the cell. That'll serve me right. No problems here anymore. :P

isKeyPressed Triggering Speed[edit source]

I found it useful while switching ownerships in PiiiP. Gen-3 functions had the game's default crime activation ( on grabbing ) triggering before the function detected the press. A similar scenario when you need to perform some pre-processing on an object that's just been activate, before it's actual activation. haama made a post about it.
shadeMe TALK 17:13, 13 July 2009 (EDT)

By all means. It does have a use now.

I Seriously need a hand with saves[edit source]

I'm back LOL... Listen I have some serious issues with my Oblivion Game... It doesn't let me save! I can't console command save (save filename), I can't Save through the menu, I can't Quicksave, and I can't Autosave!!! Everytime my game tries to save, it crashes and says, "Oblivion has stopped working". As you can imagine, it is a pain in the ass. When I try to load my game, it works fine, but here's another odd thing about it: The saves that caused it to crash are in my save menu... I tried to load some of them, but when I click on the save it says: "The Master Files in this save game aren't loaded. Returning to game." I have Oblivion.esm loaded though, and my other files work well... so I'm just here to see if someone can tell me wtf is going on... it isn't a mod that is causing it, because it only randomly happened during playing. So to recap: No matter what save type I try to use, my game crashes. I hope that someone else has has this problem before, and can help me. Thank you.

User Functions[edit source]

Hi, there, DW. I have just created an "User Function" article (from the OBSE doc, hope it is OK), an "User Function" category and a sample user function page (just to exercise/suggest a format and to get the general idea of how it would look.

(of course, feel free to undo, redo, delete, whatever you see fit - I am a strong supporter of the concept that wiki contents have no owner)

And the exercise raised a question: how to manage the potentially many implementations of the same function? All in the same article, one after another? Force different names? (Could mess up the index - Min, Min2, Min3, Min862 . . .) As I see it, except for the article name restriction, there is no reason not to have in the Wiki a number of implementations with the same name, as the modder is the one that has to pick one.

I hope I am not giving you more work than help QQuix 00:17, 31 July 2009 (EDT)

I created a Community Portal discussion for the user defined functions. I think it would be more appropriate to have the discussion there.

Tool Coder[edit source]

"Curiouser and Curiouser", said Alice ...

Well, I made one for Vorians that separated data files that were vanilla replacers. Here's the thread.

Was it the dearth of tool coders that piqued your curio or was my claim that unbelievable ?
shadeMe TALK 18:23, 12 August 2009 (EDT)

Hehe ... fair enough.

Answered / Questions Section[edit source]

That section is looking for a purge. I'll take a look at the articles and see if there is something useful that can be moved to the "proper" articles (and flag the rest).

Any reason why they are still around ?
shadeMe TALK 22:02, 13 August 2009 (EDT)

Well, almost all of the articles in the Answered/Questions section have marked for deletion. The few left standing might have content that could use a new housing. I also suggest that both categories be deleted.
shadeMe TALK 22:58, 13 August 2009 (EDT)
Glad I could help. By the way, I was wondering about the new beta functionality/theme offered at Wikipedia/Mediawiki. Any chance that could be ported to this wiki, when out of beta ?

RE: Common Bugs Suggestion[edit source]

Hi, I had spent a lot of time scripting last night coming back here looking and comparing. There are some script pages that don't display proper usage of a function such as IsQuestItem (i fixed the page) i finally got it working after finding another .esp from someone who actually did use it. Also, I did test the script last night and my script did work while cycling through the players inventory index and removing quest items. Try this. DOWNLOAD ME PLZ after experimenting with it. it did work. However I may have mis-typed the example. --D2k204 14:16, 16 October 2009 (EDT)

Ok I have looked at the history of the page at the example I have written down. Looks like my mind was just in the wrong place... Anyway, take a look at this file. This does have a workaround using label and goto to execute a recurring removeitem function.
Finally, the reason I was avoiding trying to hit endif is because the script seems to cease functioning (for me) after you execute a removeitem command and then hit an endif block. Sure it will remove the first item it finds, but the script will not loop again.
